I agree if the fabric is a nice material then you'd be fine.

I think it's beautiful but to me it looks like a maxi dress I'd wear in the daytime. I think even if it's a nice material it will look that way from afar, especially if in a dim room. I personally would do something more traditional black tie.

I would not wear this to an evening/black tie event.

I agree the dress is beautiful, but not formal enough for a black tie evening wedding at the Ritz!

@aprild: I like that first pink dress a lot - the second one is a little bit too "prom" for my taste!

@aprild: im considering the first one for a black tie wedding in Vegas. Biased, but I think it works for black tie. Eta: the fabric is dressy.

Looks like I'm in the minority, but I like the blue dress best. Been to enough black tie events and the bottom looks the most black tie. Also, personal preference, don't really like too much floral.

I was just thinking, if you haven't already bought it, have you considered renting it instead from Rent the Runway? Only suggesting because if I was in your position, I wouldn't wear that dress again. Just my two cents!
