I know that you can get pregnant anytime while breastfeeding but from what I understand it is less likely while nursing. Is that because your cycle is typically not regular and therefore you may not be ovulating? Or is it something else to do with breastfeeding?

I nurse my 24 month old 1-2 times a day and he doesn't seem ready to wean at all. Now that we are TTC, I'm wondering if it is necessary to wean (or will better my chances of a BFP if I do).

I got my period back at 6 months pp and it has been regular for the past year. So I'm kind of hoping I don't have to worry about weaning just yet (mainly because I have no clue how I'm going to wean him) and I want to get pregnant ASAP.
