I am starting to look for a glider/rocker for the nursery. I really want something more modern looking. That way when the baby factory is closed we can change the fabric and use it elsewhere. I have found some online that I like the look of but how do you know it is comfy? More then enough room to use the boppy when BFing?
What do you have in the nursery? Any recommendations? Links and pictures are much appreciated!

We are just using a hand-me-down rocker that I got from a family member, but I loooove trying out the gliders at baby stores! I have noticed there is a huge difference in how glidey different ones are, but I don't have a brand to recommend to you. I'd be a little scared to buy one online unless you heard great reviews from reliable sources since you really want to make sure it's glidey enough.

We have just a regular recliner that rocks. I've used a couple different gliders at friends houses and I had a hard time getting out of it if DS fell asleep (it was in his early days). I also like that the recliner has a high back, so if I fall asleep during a middle of the night feeding I have somewhere to lay my head.

We have the Pottery Barn Kids Wingback Rocker for that reason. Also, the rocker legs come off and can be replaced with stationary legs if you want down the road. Its beautiful, big, comfortable, and can be used in our living room down the line.

As much as I love it, I loved our sleigh rocker we had before this. It had a really long range of gliding motion that was amazing. But it broke when liv was about 5 months old. It definitely couldnt have been used in another room for us though. It was one of those wood framed gliders

We have the Little Castle Cottage Recliner/Glider. We definitely plan on having it reupholstered in the next few years as it is very comfortable. http://www.littlecastleinc.com/gallery/product/10 I used a boppy with it, no problem and I liked the arm placement as they were slightly higher than other rockers I tried and I knew I needed that support a little higher for nursing.

We ordered a custom upholstered glider and ottoman from Baby Furniture Warehouse but I totally regret spending as much as we did. That being said, we got EXACTLY what we wanted. It's beige microfiber, easy to get out of with no hands (VERY important), arms are low enough for breastfeeding, and it's wide enough to sit side by side with Wagon Jr. now. Looking back I would have spent some time finding something similar for cheaper from a regular furniture store... and definitely not gotten the ottoman because it's totally not necessary (a nursing stool is much better).

We bought our glider at Buy Buy Baby. If you have one near you, they have a great selection and you can try it out. Ours isn't very modern, but it's cushy and extremely comfy, and we can use it elsewhere in the house after baby(ies).

We got ours at PBK and can easily stick in any room of our house once we are done with it in the nursery.

@Smurfette: We got our chair at BuyBuyBaby - it's a Dutalier glider & ottoman (http://www.dutailier.com) and it took like 16 weeks to come in! but we LOVE it. we especially liked this one because it's on the smaller side, we would have loved a larger chair, but we didn't have the space. This also locks into a non-gliding chair, which is nice in case we want it in the living room at some point.

It's more grey than it looks in the picture but I think it'll be fine as a reading chair post-nursery. For me it was important that I could sit cross - legged in it and curl up, I like how small it is because I'm petite and feel really supported whereas in a bigger chair I felt swallowed up and had trouble getting out!

@LivsMama: we ordered the same one! My husband is 6'6" and this was the ONLY chair we could find that had a tall enough back for him but is still beautiful. Expensive, but worth it since we will get years of use out of it. I can't wait for it to get here!!

We thought the same, once the glider was to be retired from its original purpose we wanted to put it in the living room. It locks in place if need be and seems to be a good width for breastfeeding, hopefully it pulls through!

I got the Babyletto glider from Babies R us... It was $300. I wanted something modern that didn't cost $1000. So far I like it, but it will not be comfortable for DH who is 6'4".

I have a used glider (just get any old ugly glider off CL) and had new cushions made with clean lines and crisp edges. CJ's Cozy Cushions in Alabama (??) makes custom fit cushions for gliders at ridiculously fabulous prices.

Yep, we have the babyletto too—the only real medium priced one I could find. It's a little too deep so I put a pillow in the back when I sit in it.

We have a best chairs the Quinn, and we looooove it. It is the coziest chair ever. We have always kept it in our living room, I didn't have choice of color so it's a mocha brown but eh. We plan to keep it in the LR even after we don't use it for Cobi anymore.

@Coco Bee: yeah, i was nervous because I hadn't seen it in person but just figured I could always return it. But we love it!
We also had to buy a padded non-slip thing to put underneath and the cheapest one I could find was on amazon for like $40 or $50.

Ours is the Benji from Best Chairs. It's a Glider/Recliner. Not sure if this link will work and I don't think the fabric is quite right in the link. I don't have a picture as it's still on order.
