I know it's August, but I'm already stressing about Christmas!
What are you guys thinking of getting your LOs this year?

I have a big list! I think we're going to get a train table for both of them from Santa. I want to get an easel, and some magnatiles for B. Dubs is harder because we have everything still from B, so I'm not sure what we'll get him.

@erinbaderin: Yes! Thinking of gifts for #2 is so hard!! I feel like everything we're going to get is going to be for both of them since they both like basically the same things. And both their birthdays are in the winter too, so it's just non-stop gifts from November to February!

@Adira: you aren't the only one stressing! I'm due with our second on December 29th, I want to get all Christmas done before Thanksgiving.
DS is 4.5 and really wants the Lego fire station. It's $100 so that will probably be his big gift with maybe some other (smaller) Lego/Playmobil sets. I'll probably upgrade some of his books too, he is starting to have a better attention span for longer books.

Maybe a balance bike or a reading tent/teepee - for his "big" gift. I'm undecided on the balance bike because he already had a tricycle but people I know swear by them.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Reese: I'm thinking about getting DS a balance bike also, but he's already 3.

No clue! I ordered an Elsa and Anna plush dolls, even though she never plays with the Anna she got last Christmas, during a sale at the Disney Store. But we have no ideas for anything else, Santa gifts, or to tell other people.

Our are getting a joint gift - a bounce house for the basement. They will also get Jammies for the night before Christmas (havent picked these yet), a few books (I might do a book a day in December) and since I am praying to have both stockings done this year I will stuff their stockings.
Thats all...which is still a lot!!! Ugh,...

@Alivoo01: LO is only 14 months but a close friend started her LO with one when they were 18m which will be around LOs age (closer to 20m) when it's nice enough to use it. LO is also tall for his age and has hit physical milestones early so I'm *hoping* he can get some use out of it???
pomelo / 5791 posts
@Adira: omg yes....I can't think of anything for DS2. Poor little dude.

No idea. I want to get her a dollhouse but her birthday is October so I will probably get that for her then. Maybe a boy baby doll and some baby doll accessories since her little brother is due in December and she only has girl baby dolls right now.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
My son has already written his Christmas list, so I'll pick a few things from there and call it done.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@catlady: I would do the baby doll for her bday and then she can "practice" for when baby brother gets here. I wanted to get LO a dollhouse when I asked her if she wanted one she said no.

I plan on doing want-need-wear-read.
Want - a Little People garage or rampway since he LOVES cars/trucks
Wear - tennis shoes and PJ's
Need - a toddler bed set, maybe a soundspa/noise machine sine he'll be sharing a room soon
Read - "Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site" and "Steam Train, Dream Train" Board Books Boxed Set

A: Nod Chair like her sister (H has already said that A wants a hot pink one)
H: Not sure yet. She loves Paw Patrol, but I like to leave character stuff to the grandparents and get something else. If I don't do it for her birthday, I want to get her a train set.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site is a fantastic book! I highly recommend!

I start keeping a list right after the toddlers birthday in July so I'll remember!
Some things we might end up doing before Christmas, but for the 3 year old I'm thinking a little mini trampoline, kiddie table and chairs for the playroom, and maybe some play mobile type stuff- we actually got a whole bunch of hand me down stuff like that that she hasn't seen so maybe I'll clean it up and wrap it up for her. Also maybe a learning tower- is 3.5 too old for that to really be useful? The baby would use it after her.
The baby turns 1 right before Christmas and she is a lot harder. No one wants a new convertible car seat for Christmas! I'm thinking until she is old enough to know better we will give her half birthday gifts when we do the toddlers bday- like next summer we will get them a swing set for the backyard!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@catlady: my LO got a doll carrier for her birthday, which she loves since I wear the real baby all the time. We walk to the park with G in the real carrier and C wearing a baby doll in her carrier (then she takes it off at the park and I have to hold it...)

I'm hoping she will be able to make a list this year, but I've been thinking about a cash register, a new doll, dress up stuff....my mom wants to get her some panda calico critter play set (my girl loves pandas)
The baby will be 4 months so probably a book or two and a small toy. We will probably ask family for his own dishes/bibs for starting solids, and any clothes/winter stuff we need

Lorenzo will be 7 months and we'll be doing WWNR:
Want: Hape Activity Cube
Wear: Freshly Picked Moccs
Read: Baby lit Books
Need:Convertible Car Seat

@Reese: We got B a balance bike last year, he was just under 2. He als has a tricycle and he loves them both! The balance bike has been amazing for his balance, though, it's incredible how he can coast on it. I think it will really help with the switch to a big bike.
pomelo / 5573 posts
@avivoca: Oh, this is a great idea! B had a little armchair so we could get one for W! Thanks!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: I already have it bought! Was a back-up bday gift when a pop-a-dot book was on backorder from Amazon, so now I'll just keep it for E.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I always have a million things saved on Amazon!
Between her birthday, Christmas and baby sister's arrival, it's gonna be nothing extravagant. I'll probably do WWRN and spread them out between these occasions!
WANT: I'll wait till later to see what she's into. I really want to get tickets to take her to saw paw patrol life in March in NYC! But it's a pretty extravagant want that I don't even know if she'll like!
WEAR: snow boots/gear (hopefully no snow till next year...)
READ: new big sister/new baby books (we already have a few to get her started)
NEED: I don't think we can wait till Dec to set up her toddler room... But she needs a new dresser, a plush rug, and bedding
I'm hoping the grandparents will gift swim classes

Hmm...I'll probably use this year to get all of our stuff for the Christmas trunk since LO will only be 8 months old. Maybe we will get him the B Zany Zoo activity cube. He would enjoy a tag blanket too, but I think I should get that for him now.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: The Zany Zoo was a big hit with both my boys! They still play with it occasionally at 3.5 and 20 months.
kiwi / 584 posts
@Adira: I'm glad I'm not alone, I have no idea as my boys have sooo much stuff!
@Reese: unfortunately my almost 5 year old hates his and has never even used it

I'm stressing it too. I'm due around xmas. I need to make it good this year for DD who is now going to be a big sister. Love seeing others ideas.

My LO turns 3 4 days before Christmas so I'm trying to get birthday and Christmas together! We keep an amazon list for DH'S family that live out of state. So far we have:
- Magnatiles
- playdoh cutters (a recent obsession)
- Books (Llama Llama, which he loves)
- Pajamas

We decided to get the kids each a Tesla ride on car.
coconut / 8483 posts
Not really sure other then I'll probably tell people who ask to get ds dress up clothes. We have none and he is big into pretend play lately so I think he would like it.
Otherwise I hope he gets nothing because we have a huge toy room and it's filllllllled with toys. 🙄
pear / 1622 posts
We may get a museum or zoo membership. We went to ikea last weekend and bought a few wooden toys (cars, trains) for LO1 to give to him for his birthday and Christmas.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@chopsuey: Stop it! My son wants one too, but he already got a Chevy Suburban ride on last year and getting another car seems so ridiculous.
Of course, it was my husband who had to show him the video.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@looch: hahah my kids each got a ride on 2 years ago too. But my DH thinks they need a faster (5mph) upgrade Lol
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@chopsuey: haha, men. My husband wants it so that he and my son have matching cars. He won't say it, but i know that's the reason, lol.

Santa is bringing DD1 a new pink bed (her request) and DD2 doll stuff (she loves babies right now, so she's getting a pack n play, new stroller, ect.) plus stocking stuffers.
And from us we will be doing W/N/W/R:
Want: we are taking them to Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights
Need: Not sure yet, they don't NEED anything...I'm drawing a blank.
Wear: both with get new pajamas
Read: various books for both of them

I picked up the Doc McStuffins pet care cart at Target yesterday. They've been eyeing it, and my luck it'll be sold out by the time I get around to it so...I grabbed it. That'll be a joint gift.
I'd like to get some books for both and chairs. They have beanbags (that ideally I could relocate to their rooms) but I am honestly not sure what else to get.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@LuLu Mom: Great Wolf will be so much fun!! We're planning on taking our kids in February!
