I just did it...I canceled our DirecTV membership!
So, by Friday I need to decide what we will buy and use. We will be using daily, so speed is important! What can you guys tell me about the difference between Roku 2, 3 and ChromeCast?
Thanks!

We have both. Originally had a chromecast but had a lot of problems with streaming and speed, plus we had to stream from one of our devices which slowed that device down if we wanted to use it while streaming. Bought a roku 3 right before we canceled cable and love it! No issues and it's been amazing. I can't remember why we went with the 3 over the 2 tho, might of been the faster processor.

@MrsTal: Awesome, thanks! I'm thinking that we should probably just pay the $30 difference and go with the 3. I don't want to buy the 2, and be irritated when it is too slow.

I vote AmazonTV, you can watch Hulu, Netflix, Prime shows, and lots of other random apps. There is one called PlutoTV that combines Youtuve videos into channels.

We have an Apple TV downstairs and a Chromecast upstairs! I like both.
We also got an antenna that was $18 and we get ABC & NBC in crystal clear HD so we can watch some of our shows live if we want.

I love our Chromecast, it streams everything from our computer browsers + apps (Hulu, Netflix, etc.) and it works just fine.

We have been using chromecast for a couple of months now and really like it!

We have two chromecasts and I like them a lot.
Pros:
- I can easily stream from my iPhone from my netflix, YouTube and hbo go apps
- my phone controls the chromecasts in my living room & basement, so we don't have multiple remotes
- it's small, no box, easy to install/set up, no remotes sitting around either
Cons
- I have an iPhone & there are some wonky glitches. Netflix automatically streams the next episode in a series now, but if I am switches shows/episodes manually I usually have to click the chromecast app first to restart my app then start up Netflix again. It's annoying.
- my husband doesn't have this issue with his samsung. It seems to be iPhone only.
- you can't stream amazon prime from chromecast which is annoying. We watch a lot of prime too!

We have a Chromecast and it is so easy! We haven't had a single issue with it (had it for almost a year now).

We have both and I love the Roku. It was the easiest to use to navigate between everything we use regularly... Netflix and Amazon Prime, some Hulu and a few other channels. I don't like using chromecast for whatever reason. But it's convenient sometimes when we can't get to something easily through Roku.
