Clomid even though you ovulate?

I know this is an older post, but after 11 months and a million tests my ob has suggested clomid this cycle. I do ovulate on my own but my luteal phase is generally on the short side with later ovulation 17-18. Does anyone think I could still have success taking clomid ?

I'm considering starting clomid, am just scared of side affects. I o on my own. But bc I have only1 tube as the other is blocked, my gyno suggested injectables but I want to try clomid first I think.

@BrianaK: I seriously considering taking this too. Maybe we could start the clomid journey together? I'm seeing my gyno tomorrow about starting. I'm currently on cd1 and I know u have to be monitored while taking it but my issue is I'll be on holidays for a week few days before I o so I might not be able to start it until April.

@Emilia80: i just finished taking clomid this month... The side effects aren't horrible. I also am not being monitored this cycle. So I know it's possible to take it without being montitored. I think its just the first step when it comes to fertility drugs so it's worth a shot! Good luck let me know what you decide .

@BrianaK: what side affects did u have ??
Oh that's so good to hear u dont need to be monitored I hope my gyno won't need to either. I'm on my way there now to see him soon. Will let u know how I go.

@Emilia80: not many... Hot flashes and a little moodiness towards the end of the pills.

@BrianaK: so once u stopped taking the pills the side affects stopped immediately? If that's the case I might be ok bc I'll still be home during taking the pills and finish my last few days before I leave for my holiday. I just don't want any nausea or bloatness can't deal with them .
