Hi ladies,
I asked this question on the February POAS board but I wanted to ask in a separate thread too.
Has anyone ever paid attention to CM during their luteal phase? I've read a few different places that watery CM after ovulation can indicate low progesterone, and I've been having tons of watery CM (currently 8 DPO). I don't have any other signs of low progesterone but this is still causing a little worry.

I would say mine is usually "watery". Sometimes its a bit more/thicker (sorry TMI) and I used to worry that meant I was ovulating late or again or something... or whatever mind game I wanted to play with myself haha...

@psw27: Did you have any issues getting pregnant? I remember with my daughter I had one day (9 DPO) of really thick white CM but can't seem to remember what happened the other days.

I always have watery CM before my period starts. I often have it during my luteal phase and go through the same damn mind game that @psw27 says.
The only way I was ever able to make heads or tails of CM (and have it be useful) was with temping.

@mrskansas: No, no issues. I'm pregnant with #2 now! I only remember because I would always psyche myself out that we had missed O cause this was too much CM for post O.... I don't have low progesterone to my knowledge, and I've had blood work done in the past due to wonky irregular cycles.

@psw27: That's what I'm worried about now! Although I had way more EWCM last week when I had my positive OPK.

@LBee: I've heard it's common right before AF shows, but I can't seem to find anything about it being watery at 7/8 DPO.
It's just odd because it comes in spurts. It'll be creamy and sticky in the evening and then the next morning it's watery. I wish I was a little more textbook, lol

@mrskansas: I would say very few people are text book, as reflected by the plethora of people on boards trying to figure out WTF is going on with their body. Good luck! Have you considered taking an OPK and trying to gauge where you are based on the darkness of that?

@mrskansas: I'm sure you don't need me to tell you about all the different variables that I thought of during the TWW -- oh it must be watery cause of implantation, or it must be watery cause AF is on her way... blah blah blah. If you had EWCM and a positive OPK, you definitely O'd last week! Fingers crossed for you!

I practice a charting method that relies solely on CM, and I've never heard anything about water mucous relating to low P. The biggest link I've seen to watch for is tail end brown bleeding and/or prolonged spotting after AF.
