I'm buying a Costco membership next week and I need all your tips on what products are awesome and which are not.
We've had a Sam's Club membership for many years so warehouse/bulk shopping is not new to us.
Thanks!!

The Kirkland brand wipes are my favorite at any price- and they are cheap! And there is a five pound bag of frozen tortellini that I really really like. I also like to get the big box of Annie’s snacks (mix of cheddar bunnies, chocolate, honey grahams), and Annie’s Mac and cheese.

If you're looking to go on vacation, do not forget about the Costco Travel website. We've used it the last 5 years for all our vacations, you really cannot beat the prices.
We also get our glasses from them, as well as photo printing. I haven't tried their holiday cards, but I am sure they're great. You can also use them to buy a car or replace your tires.
I also buy their fresh flowers when I want to gift a bouquet.

I do not like their string cheese. We get organic whole milk (3 half gallons) which last us the month; eggs, le croix, wipes, pulls ups (never diapers though). We get dish detergent, free and clear, batteries, chicken, and their produce tend to be better/last longer than my grocery store. We get feozen wile caught salmon and heir bags of frozen shrimp for quick dinners. I love Costco!

This article just came out! It has great advice, as well as a link to a guide for a first Costco trip!
Something I like to add, is that barring large purchases, the cost for me usually evens out to $10 an item. So 10 items in your cart is going to be about $100.

You should search Costco threads - this comes up every few months.
For babies, their wipes are THE BEST. I'm lukewarm about their diapers. Their Kirkland formula is also fantastic.
Great price on my favorite Nature Made prenatal vitamins - I take them all the time regardless of TTC and its one SOFTGEL with no nasty taste. We also get our kids' gummy vitamins from there.
Great price on organic applesauce pouches for the kids.
They sell vacuum packed rotisserie chicken breast meat pulled off their excess chickens. Its delicious and cheap and easy for a zillion different meals and salads. Its in the cold prepared food case where they have the pasta salads and take n bake pizzas.
Babybel cheeses are a great price. Columbus brand cold cuts are delicious. Their bacon is a great price.
The Garofalo pasta they sell there is the tastiest we've found. Turns out perfect every time.
Good price on almond/peanut butters and they usually have a seasonal organic jam that is good.
Coffee is a great price, especially this time of year with the holiday blends.
We love their toilet paper.
They make a panko crusted tilapia and seasoned/marinated individually packed salmon filets in the freezer case that are delicious.
Better than Bouillon in the spice area is the best price anywhere and so much healthier than those cubes.
The microwaveable rice bowls save my bacon at least once a week.
Par-baked pizza crusts (like Boboli crust type things) are super handy to have around.
The Terra Fina brand dips and the hummus are always delicious.
The Niman Ranch/Kirkland spiral slice hams for the holidays are EXCELLENT. They also sell a smoked turkey breast that is super yum and easy to reheat and slice up for a simple/small Thanksgiving.
This time of year, they also make in-house mac n cheese and mashed potatoes and they are super good - as good as homemade. And their pumpkin pie is a no-brainer - its even made with organic pumpkins the last 2 years!
Avocados, bananas, baby carrots, and they carry a type of Artisan romaine lettuce that is better than the regular romaine. Best price on clementines this time of year too.
Kids PJs and Carter's playsets are a great price here. They make an inexpensive men's brand of jean called Urban Star that my husband LOVES and I love because they are like $14 a pair. I like the Felina brand everything - tanks, underwear, leggings, etc. Super soft and comfy. Their coats and rain jackets for the whole family are always a great deal and have been quality for us.
Their Kirkland Protein Bars are the BEST. So cheap and 4 net carbs and soooo much cheaper and tastier than Quest Bars. (Pro tip - nuke them for 10-12 seconds!)
Their generic Allegra is great, the best price on the Clean Care contact solutions, pretty much all the supplements have been great. Really great price on Zarbee's cough syrups for kids - we go through that stuff constantly.
Wine and generally all the booze. Their Kirkland brand stuff has actually all been very good.
This time of year, its the best for getting all those small gifts for neighbors and coworkers and daycare people done.
Their butter poundcake is to die for. My husband adores their muffins and bagels over anything I can buy anywhere else. The chocolate chip cookies we literally never buy because they would be destroyed so fast.
We always really enjoy their beef. Ground beef is a good price and their steaks are always very good quality. Fresh wild salmon in season is a great treat. Kerrygold butter is cheap and in the cheese case.
My boys realllly like the Aidell's chicken meatballs, so we buy a fair amount of that. And the Birdseye garlic chicken pasta meal for some reason. They always really like it.

How do you all feel that Costco prices compare to places like Aldi, Target with coupons/sales/giftcards, etc.? We don't have a wholesale club membership but I usually go with my mom when she comes to visit since she has one. I do like some of the food, but when I look at stuff like diapers, wipes, household products, cleaning supplies, etc. I feel like I get a better deal shopping sales/coupons other places. Like I buy diapers at Target when they do the huge giftcard deal (like spend $100 get a $25 gc) and stack with Cartwheel and diaper coupons (there are always diaper coupons) and I get them pretty cheap.

@MrsADS: I think its a more brand specific thing for me. My kids do best in Pampers products (although I wont pass a great deal if I find it and just send those to daycare so I don't have to deal with any blowouts) but the Costco wipes are hands down the best of any I have tried so I just pay whatever price they are. We don't have Aldi here, but I would definitely shop there if I did. I get most of my cleaning products on Amazon subscribe and save, but we go through SO much fresh food in a week that Costco is faster/cheaper/easier for me. But my view is colored by the fact that its literally 5 minutes from my house and I don't have to go out of my way to shop there.

@gingerbebe yeah, if I had Costco 5 min away I would totally be a member. It's a bit of a drive for me unfortunately!
