I attached the real numbers here to see if my frustration is justified.

When my son first started daycare in May 2016 the infant room was $1400/month. In September 2016 it was raised to $1470/month. In September 2017 the infant room was raised to $1550/month. My son aged to the toddler room in September 2017. When I first started the toddler room (18 months to 30 months) was $1300/month, then was raised to $1365 in September 2016, and raised to $1440 when my son started in September 2017. Today, I am paying $40 per month more then I was first paying in the infant room for the toddler room.

We just got our tuition for 2018/2019. Guess what, another raise. My son will move to the next room (30 month room). Now the tuition will go down to $1245, but I have to be honest, this room is a ton more then when I first started. It was $1050/month when I first started.

I feel like this is a significant raise each year. I don't get this percentage of raises at work each year.

Now, I am pregnant with my second and the infant room is $1610/month. The do give a 10% discount on the sibling of the lower cost tuition. At the end of the month I will be paying $2730.50. I am in sticker shock. I know I knew this before, but seeing real number and it going to be my reality is just alarming.

Now, with all that said, my daycare can justify to charge these prices. They are amazing and have a waiting list. Most kids only go a few days a week though. Only a handful of other parents send their kids full time... I think that makes a huge difference when comparing costs.

I am just venting and fustrated and sticker shocked at $1610/month for the infant room...

Also, are these raises a norm around the country?

Edit to add - what is your take on the teacher only hours.... Those hours would work perfectly for my family and I find it unfair to only offer that to teachers? How would you approach that with the school?
