I haven't made any appointments yet-- last time, I was so eager to see my doctor (an OB/GYN that I've been seeing for the last six or so years) ASAP; the only things that happened at my first appointment were a urine test to verify my pregnancy and a short do/don't talk. Since I'm hoping to avoid a $40 ($40!) copay for a test that's identical to the ones I've been taking at home, I'll probably be scheduling the first appointment around the middle of May, so we can do the first u/s then. Can't wait to see that heartbeat!

@spaniellove: I think your date is wrong, today's the 15th but don't worry, I've got my fingers crossed from now till Thursday for you!! I'm excited to hear all about it!

we have our first apt and u/s on 5/7...

My first appointment is on the later side, June 6th, I should be 12 weeks exactly and I assume they will do an u/s. We are traveling most of the month of May, so I can't do any earlier.

My first child was born in NYC, and we just moved to Vienna at the end of last year. I'm very curious as to how my pregnancy experience will go here compared to in the US. I'm just glad I found an English speaking doctor literally in the building next door!

@lamariniere: sounds like most cities! always a bit drab moving in the winter...but yay for the return of warm weather I was there in october, so it was perfect fall weather - actually even unseasonably warm.

Our first appointment and u/s is May 9th! I think I'll be just short of 8 weeks. It can't come soon enough!

I had my first appointment today, but it wasn't anything exciting. They basically confirmed that I'm pregnant, gave me my due date, and prescribed prenatals. I go back 5/31 to hear the heartbeat and have a more thorough exam. So excited!

My 3rd beta was today and it more than doubled from two days ago, so I'm happy. I don't know what I'm going to do until my u/s in 3wks.

@mrsmate: yay that's great news!! Thank you so much! I'm so nervous for Monday. I can't believe it's almost here! I'm sure the 3 weeks will fly for you
