@snowjewelz: Sooo fun right?? Grandma's both have pools but of course in the sun, so I'm not too sure as to protocols on that w/s sun exposure and such...maybe do some night swims

@winniebee: Awww sorry your baby is sick. Hope he is getting better today

@snowjewelz: I really want to do a swim class once it gets a little warmer!

Harvey slept 9 to 4 woke up to eat then slept till 7. I feel like a new mama. When I put him back down at 4 he wasn't totally asleep. Maybe that helped him sleep longer? He doesn't seems to mind laying in his crib and babbling in the early AM.

@magnolia: 9 to 4 is an awesome stretch!! And then back to sleep until 7! Woohoo!

When do you use bumbo? I see some of you have them in already?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I just got the fisher price floor seat for K and put her in it few mins at a tine, few times a day since she suddenly always strains to sit up and holds her head pretty steadily. She loves being in it already! Lemme go on my phone to upload a pic..

@snowjewelz: Ahhhh!!!! So cute!!!
We don't have a bumbo or anything like that for Logan.

Related to the bumbo, we will be getting our jumperoo out soon. C started using the jumperoo just after 4 months. We never had an excer-saucer.
We don't have the floor space for the jumperoo and swing, so I guess the swing will go when I get the jumperoo out.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: I gotta get a jumperoo too.. Do you like yours? There are so many options it makes me dizzy!

We've been using the Bumbo for a few weeks pretty regularly. He also has a walker/jumper that he sits in and a door jumper, we pad those a little with a blanket, but he loves them all so he can look around and kick his legs.

@snowjewelz: We have a fisher price one from C. It's okay. Its one that was a black Friday special at BRU that my parents got her for Christmas when she was 4 months old. It does the job, but doesn't have the greatest of toys attached.

@snowjewelz: ohhh I LOVE THAT! Seems to support her in front a little bit no???
I put G in Bumbo she falls forward a bit,but seemed to LOVE IT Soon babe soon!!!
She is napping all day today! Rare!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
What are naps like for you ladies? Logan's daycare teacher keeps telling me that he takes really short naps and I'm like "Yeah, I know, that's normal for him." But she seems to think it's weird since she keeps bringing it up! Don't lots of babies catnap at this age??
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: we use the bumbo on our kitchen counter and/or table during mealtimes (or meal prep). i do realize that is completely against the warning about not using it on high surfaces and ours is old-school and doesn't even have the belt buckle!
@winniebee: how is R doing today?
@magnolia: what a stretch! i think we are in the 3 month growth spurt because E has been waking up 2x/night and eating a TON lately. we will not be setting any record sleep stretches at this point.
pear / 1961 posts
@adira: my girls have both been pretty good nappers from 0-3 months. K started the dreaded 45 minute naps at 4 months, but that was also pretty close to the time she started going to daycare, which was way more stimulating and loud, so harder for her to nap. We'll see what happens to E in a couple weeks, but so far, she still does naps of 1-1.5hrs, 2.5-3 hrs, and 1-1.5hrs most days.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Hopefully she will enjoy this for a while! Yeah I guess a good thing about this is she can't fall completely forward. And great that she's napping!
@Adira: Yeah, I thought 30-40 min is pretty common since they usually can't extend beyond 1 sleep cycle themselves. K takes 30-40 min naps.. Sometimes falls asleep again if we pick her up. If she is really tired she does take up to 1 hour by herself.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Haha as you can see I put mine on the table too! I mean, what is she gonna look at on the floor?!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: Yeah she is a cat napper 80% of the time her longest naps are in the morning or if DH is home she will nap on him forever!!!!
Most naps range 30-40 mins
Today she is sleeping A LOT! I think PT even though it is only for 45 mins wears her out
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@KayKay: Guilty also. So helpful to me when I'm trying to make dinner so he is still entertained but I can get stuff done! At this age though I don't think we have to worry about them getting themselves out of it to fall!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: Ryan's naps are pretty unpredictable. We usually have at least one long nap of around 2 hours. The rest are 45 mins or so.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan hasn't had a fever today but it usually creeps back in the evening. His naps have been awful so he is pretty cranky. His cough is not better either. Taking him back to the doc tomorrow.

@winniebee: ohhh geez, poor little guy and you!! How is big bro?
eggplant / 11861 posts
Sleeping again??? After a feeding after her last nap? Slept 2:30-4:30 just ate and passed out! Wow! Maybe 12 week spurt we are next week!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I'm ok. Nasty cold. Big brother is a little better but testing my patience! Their naps overlapped for a bit so I had a short nap.

Hope all these sick babies feel better soon!
We just ordered a bouncer thing for M, so hopefully he likes it. I need to be able to set him somewhere other than his swing while washing dishes or something.
He takes really short naps most of the time too. Once in a while, he'll surprise us & do a 1-2 hr nap, but not often.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: always this time!! Can Tylenol control it? I hope he doesn't have to go to the ER
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: I don't take his temp overnight. I just re dose Tylenol in the motn and retake in the morning. He hasn't had a fever during the days but it's been 4 nights of it which is concerning. Having a sick baby this young is pretty awful.

@snowjewelz: @Adira: I can't even picture how you do a successful dream feed. I feel like both of my kids would have been like (yo! I'm awake now!). Tell me your secrets!
@FaithFertility: Glad she napped well - how is PT going?
@magnolia: Yay for great sleep! You must have felt amazing
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: J's naps are usually 40 minutes on the dot. Sometimes I can get him to take a longer one in the middle of the day during M's nap which is, obviously, amazing
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: really good thanks for asking.... She can turn the full 90 degrees and isn't favoring any side anymore, I'm glad we decided to go, so much ties into their neck....sitting up,rolling over....I feel like we caught it early enough so we won't have a hard time later on hopefully
