I'm also trying really hard to get in at least 1 nap a day in crib! She still wont go down all on her own, but only takes a few minutes of arm swaying.....we succeeded this morning with an hr crib nap!!!

@FaithFertility: yay! that's awesome!
Ever since K laughed it's been my life goal to get her to laugh.. she is so stingy with them!! I think she forgets that she knows how to laugh sometimes so she doesn't unless she's SUPER amused or I tickle her A LOT (like to the point where I feel kinda bad...)
K never leaks out of the diapers... I just go by when it seems really tight around her jelly roll thighs haha and the weight suggestion on the box...

@snowjewelz: ohhh I bet, I would want to hear that laugh all day too!!!!
Hahah I love jelly roll thighs! better than pork chops

@MamaG: I think it will be a while before J is ready for solids. We waited until 6 months for M and even then it took her a while to catch on. We did a mix of table foods and purees for her and I think we'll do the same for him.
@BandDmommy: J's definitely starting to be more distracted while nursing but not taking my nipples with him yet He's congested too though - so that's kind of painful. On, off, on, off. Ouch!
@Adira: You guys have had MORE than your fair share of sickness
@FaithFertility: J's been in size 2 for a while. Big boy over here And an hour crib nap is great!

We've been doing crib for all sleep for a while, but lately naps have really gone terribly. I think he's just so much more aware of what's going on. Only lasted 20 minutes this morning. He's up there right now and was fussing on and off but I think he's asleep now? DH and M are out at the Children's museum so I'm sitting on our back deck (surrounded by 2 feet of snow) trying to enjoy the 50 degree weather and a People magazine. It's amazing what feels incredibly luxurious as a mom

@FaithFertility: I just ordered a box of 2's and will move on to them when we are done with 1's, which is probably in a week

My husband's been gone a week tomorrow -- it hasn't been so bad to be alone at home with the exception of bedtime which can be a little hairy! I've been doing early dinner, bath with both at the same time, PJ Ryan while Ty still in the tub, then read books and have songs in Ty's bed with Ryan in the boppy (having some of his bottle - we do a bedtime bottle every night) and then goodnight to Ty, go and burp and swaddle Ryan and finish his bottle. Both in bed by 8. Then I RUN to the shower, pump, have a glass of wine and go to bed

@BandDmommy: My nipples have been more sore lately. He's used to a very fast flow and quick letdown and if it doesn't happen he starts kicking his feet and pulling on me

Does pumping make anyone else sad? I am still having a hard time being at work and away from my baby all day but it's manageable... that is until I go pump. While pumping I get this strong feeling of missing my baby and just want to cry!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: Pump does suck. And I always look at all my pictures and videos of K while pumping too! So I even kinda cherish the MOTN feeds now (well, it's a love/hate thing... Since I'd like to sleep too...)

@winniebee: that's similar to what we do for bedtime.. B showers so I get a lot done while he's in shower

I'm getting really confused about Ryan's hunger cues since he is EBF with just a bed time bottle. He has his fists in his mouth CONSTANTLY and is very aggressive about it. Like he's rooting. He just ate an hour ago but is furiously eating his fist. Seriously how do you know when your baby is hungry nowadays? I try to make him go 3 hours but it's often only 2.5 during the day.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I don't... Since I'm not home during the day, she just eats roughly every 3 hrs. On weekends I feed her roughly every 3 hours also. The only way I really know she's hungry is if she starts getting fussy but she def does not need sleep yet.
Also I find that she doesn't last the full 3 sometimes on the breast, I think she drinks less than 4 oz from me b/c she is so distracted these days!

@FaithFertility: It's good news that it's contained! I'm so glad you found this out and can get it taken care of!

One week of daycare and I'm pretty sure all 3 of us are sick with a cold. luckily it hasn't been that bad, but I'm sure it's just a sign of things to come.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: @snowjewelz: same with us. It's about every 2-3 hours, although depending on the days schedule it can stretch out to 4. She will start to get upset when she's hungry, but does chew or suck on her hands all the time.

@winniebee: same exact boat here I actually gave her a cold teether today because she is nuts
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: oh man I'm sorry. Been there the first year of daycare is rough but it gets so much better!

I'm behind on this thread after spending the day at home. You ladies are so chatty!
But I saw a bit of conversation about solids, so I'll chime in on that. We're waiting until 6 month again, which is what we did with Xander. I'm really in no rush to have to deal with feeding two kids real food, haha.
Also, in regard to diapers, we've been in size 2 diapers for a while now. I was actually thinking my chunky monkey might need size 3 soon!
Thank you all for the well-wishes! Logan doesn't seem too bothered with his cold, so I'll hope it doesn't get any worse. And Xander seems to be over whatever he had, thankfully!
@winniebee: I'm at a loss with Logan about food too. He has bottles at daycare and goes 3 hours between them there, but then it might be only an hour from his last bottle and he's acting hungry with me! I kind of doubt he's really hungry, but he does the same thing. I think he's actually just sleepy and wants something to suck on. But I nurse him anyway because I figure it's good for my supply.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: I do the same thing but it makes me wonder if I'm starving him of I don't ha! I also think Ryan over feeds when he is tired and it just leads to crazy spit up. Today he ate ate 2a, 6a, 8, 10, 2, 4, 630, then 4 more oz at 730. That's one more feeding than usual. He had some pretty crazy spit up though!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Ohhh, hmmm, yeah , Logan doesn't spit up much, so I don't have that issue to take into consideration. I have no idea! Do we have another growth spurt coming up???
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
My motto is, when in doubt, nurse. Haha! Like you @adira I figure it helps with supply anyway!
Ugh I was hoping K would fall asleep on her own since she woke up after I put her down but wasn't fussy. But wasted an hour bc she would not sleep! She didn't cry but I'm not sleep training or anything so I didn't want her to waste the sleep!

@winniebee: I'm having a hard time knowing when he's hungry, too! He does seem to still be eating every 2 hrs or so, but the fists constantly in the mouth throws me off.
@Adira: sorry he's sick!
H has been in size 3 diapers for a while now. I don't think we will be sizing up anytime soon, though.
And I don't think will be starting solids until at least 6 mo. I haven't done too much reading on it yet; my brain is just too fried to process information right now.
