@MrsF: he's definitely been more gassy and had more poop! But from just mini chocolate chips in one cookie?? This is gross but I was really gassy yesterday and I don't know why! I'm going to stay off for a bit and try something more obvious in a few weeks. I would be afraid of doing it around vaccine time too! But man I just want to start eating normally again. Have you been having soy regularly?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Bummer you can't eat dairy again yet! This would drive me insane!! You're such a good mom for eating a revised diet for your baby!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: I have been more lax about soy. I was already eating soy oil and soy lethicin though, and the soy protein is pretty easy to avoid, so that's not really a big deal. I also wonder when they seem to have a more minor reaction if they just need a little time to get used to it. My tummy feels a little squirly eating dairy when I've been avoiding it for so long - maybe his does too? I remember when we first gave M yogurt after her MSPI she had some huge diaper blowouts. I thougt it was a reaction but the GI said to just give her a little time to adjust.

@MrsF: that's exactly what my husband said. That he won't be used to it at all so it would be normal for him to be more gassy. He wasn't at all unhappy so that was good! Lots of green icky poo!

@winniebee: I'm glad you got to live a lil bit, and that the effect wasn't TOO bad for him! You are doing such a great job!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Aww I'm sorry! Ours did too. She was doing good (in my book) for ~ a week and last night went back to being up every 2-3 hours... Plus she would not go down between 7-8 either. Double, triple sigh!

@adira: about splitting time, i try to look at it a little more macro (by week-ish). there are definitely some days where one or the other kid seems to get more attention, but over the course of the week i try to even it out. i think it's easy to "ignore" the baby, at least for me since E is still napping pretty well. So there are definitely days where I feel like we don't do much actual playing with her...she is either eating or napping or watching us play with K. i have been trying to be a bit more intentional with my time with her, but it's hard before they can really sit up and/or play with things!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: I try to look at it by week too. There are two days where Ty is in school so when Ryan is awake on those days I try to "play" with him more. It makes me feel a little bad when I leave the room for a bit and come back in and he is so happy to see me!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: @KayKay: @winniebee: I think I need to try to be better about giving Logan some attention for play time. It's just so hard because it's easy to "ignore" the baby when Xander's there demanding my attention! And I feel like I already spend a lot of time "ignoring" Xander when I'm nursing, but nursing isn't really giving Logan any interaction either. Gahh!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: it's really hard, but the babies are so stimulated by everything that they see, whereas the toddlers (at least mine) need so much more interaction to be stimulated. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: Can you just bring logan on the playmat or something while you play with Xander? I do this and then interact with ryan ever few mins.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: So true!
@winniebee: Yes, that's definitely doable. And I do do it, just not as much as I should!

We just had J's 4 month appointment (and M's 2.5 year). Weighed in at almost 16lbs and she could see little bumps of teeth coming up under the gums! I had just been assuming that all of the hands in the mouth action was soothing / exploring, but she thought he might be teething. We'll see!
He's napping right now and recovering from his shots

I got so wrapped up in work today that I completely forgot about my afternoon pumping session. I did finally remember it 30 minutes late. Thankfully there's only one other pumper besides me so the room was free and I remember before it was time to head home. Although I'm sure this won't be the only time I lose track of time.

@Miss Ariel: I have alarms on my phone... I pumped over 1.5 hr late today too b/c of meetings!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: aw hope he does well with the recovery. Big boy!!!!
@Miss Ariel: I was just going to suggest a phone alarm!

Ryan has barely slept today!!!! A few cat naps and even those were hard to get. He has been awake since 3 and it's Neely 8. Hope he conks out!
I just checked Ts baby book and his 4m regression started at 16 w (today for Ryan). Hope the sleep gods take pity on me after 10 w of horrible sleep!!!!

@winniebee: woof long time up, I hope the sand man visits you and Ryan

we're trying out the zipadeezip tonight. naps went really well in it today, so figured i'd give it a shot! she's flopping around like a little fish, half-asleep, right now. ha.
@winniebee: here's to hoping that the first 10 weeks were enough regression for R

@MrsF: Our doc mentioned this last week as well. Her gums were smooth then, but I feel bumps now. I tried to look tonight to see if I could see white, but she kept slipping her tongue over her gum so I couldn't see.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Yes it does!!
Gahh, this cold Logan has stinks! I thought he was getting better and then he woke at 3:00 coughing his lungs out and sounding horribly congested! Boooo!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: I hope it worked and she slept well!
@Adira: boo J's having a hard time getting over his congestion too.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: K now stares at her hands in the zipadee... I can totally see her thinking to herself, "where did my hand go?!"
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Poor baby and poor mommy! This sickness thing is really outta control!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Is not sleeping (rather than sleeping badly) a sign of regression too? K didn't go to bed till 10 last night and was up by 6:30 so she didn't even get 10 hrs of night sleep!
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: total fail. I threw the swaddle on top at 1130 after 2 wake ups already! She did fine after that. All that freedom was too much. Haha.
@adira: seriously you guys need to catch a break with sickness!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: @KayKay: For seriously! I'm just hoping now that it's Spring, things will get better, although Xander was sick CONSTANTLY when he started daycare and he started in the summer... I know this is normal, I just don't remember Xander having this much trouble with congestion when he was a baby. And we're almost out of albuterol!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: We very rarely get 10 hours of night sleep - which is probably why she naps so well at daycare. It's very common for her to fall asleep closer to 9pm and she's often trying to wake up at 4am, I push her to at least 5am.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: I feel you on the sickness. We've been there! And I suspect we will be again soon enough since we are in peak allergy stuff here. Everything is in bloom and covered in yellow pollen. Hopefully is all immune building

I might need to complain more about sleep ;). I won't say what happened as I don't want to jinx it yet. But the past two nights have had forward progress in our sleep issues at home. Of course, we head out of town tomorrow, so it's all up in the air for how we all manage. But, I finally feel like I can see light at the end of the tunnel again.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Yay, for what you didn't mention.... lol
Hope going out of town does not mix it up too much...
Starting next Monday we are staying at my Mom's house while they fix the wall/mold issue......I am not looking forward to it, hopefully it won't mess up what we have going too much!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: great! 8-345 but then had a poop so took awhile to get back down. Finally 430-715. He's fighting naps like crazy again today!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: oh no!!!! You guys need to catch an illness break.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: I suppose I shouldn't really complain - despite being sick, Logan's generally still a good sleeper. And sleeping 9:30 - 3:30 is still better than what others have been getting!
pomelo / 5660 posts
Thank God that D is heavy sleeper! B has been yelling at me from his room for the past hour. Nap B!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Sorry you're having nap issues! Logan only took ONE nap yesterday and it was less than 2 hours. Poor baby was exhausted by the time we got home (Hello silly baby - fall asleep in the car!). But after I nursed him, he was out for the night (besides a dreamfeed and the wakeup at 3:30).
