@FaithFertility: I really had no idea how much I would love this baby either!
I am a total sap now too!
I bought Ethan a paci-plushie this weekend and he loves it, uses it more as a teether than a pacifier and sucks on the puppy legs, but hopefully it will be his comfort-item while we do this sleep training.

@josina: ohhh yes G uses her WubbaNub the same way, good idea to use it as comfort and even maybe a sleep que

@josina: we stopped bc she loves to pull on the plush so the paci would come out too! So now she has a separate lovey

@FaithFertility: Yeah, she like grabs/pets at the lil head on top of the blankie when nursing... And she holds onto it when I'm holding/rocking her. I actually really need to wash it, I should really get another one...

Wow, yeah, everyone had a hit of a rough go last night, eh? E actually did great, probably be a use it was her last night in our room while the grandparents were in hers. Went down at 630p, woke up at 230a to eat quick, then up at 7a for the day. I'll take it!

I'm sorry I'm crashing this thread the bottle pissed her off so much she has been SCREAMING since DH is trying to console her.....
I feel like I'm failing today

@KayKay: that's a pretty good night in my book too!
@FaithFertility: aww poor G and poor mommy! are you still planning on trying sippy cup?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah this was my last attempt before sippy
I was doing yard work and could here her screaming.....he stopped but she just wouldn't calm down! She cried herself to sleep
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: bonus sleep training? Since she will be 8 mo by the time you go back maybe just see if sippy cup would work out! I like that Avent one since she can hold it and you can switch back between sprout & nipple.
Ugh so DH has jury duty so I'm home this PM with K... It's been over 2 hrs since her last nap and all she keeps doing is looking at me humming lol

@snowjewelz: Yeah I'm hoping, I told DH in tears almost either she takes something by July or I'm not gong back!!!!

@FaithFertility: Someone here (winniebee, maybe) talked about a Grandma bottle boot camp. I know y'all stayed with your mom recently. Could she do this for you? Drop her off for a day with Grandma. Babies get really mad and cry a lot, but they will eat and sleep ... eventually.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Yes, my mom talks a big game but when she has her for a few she says her back hurts and such.....so I know she wouldn't be up for it
Honestly me and DH need to bite the bullet, we tried last weekend as I left for 5 hrs and no luck....
I need to put on my big girl panties it is just so hard for me

@FaithFertility: Sorry! I've never dealt with bottle issues, as both of my kids have always had them. And I know crying babies are emotionally draining. But like I said with the sleep thing earlier today. You will find your point where you feel like there's no turning back and you need to do whatever to make change. Or you will be okay continuing on the same path - either are okay.
It's hard! It's draining! It makes me ragey But at the end of the day, babies must eat and must sleep, somehow.

@FaithFertility: I am a December mama but I don't post here much, just lurk once in a while :). One of the ladies in my moms group has a bottle refused and this baby is STUBBURN. Her poor mom tried everything under the sun, and what finally worked for her was ordering these cheap latex nipples on amazon. They are much softer than the silicone nipples you see on most bottles. Her daughter slowly started accepting an ounce with those! Sorry I don't have a link or more specific description for you. Good luck!

@FaithFertility: just popping in to share a blog with you where the mom experienced hard core bottle refusal from her baby girl. I know in the end it all worked out so maybe if you search her blog you can find the story. She is super nice so I'm sure if you email her she would be willing to share any tips.
I just did a quick search and found this post so hopefully it leads to something helpful

SleepSUCKS! D was up at 10 pm and 2 am. At 2 she refused the PNP so I put her in bed with us. She slept till B woke us up at 7. Crib boot camp is starting tomorrow.

Sleep was okay last night, not sure if I can say it improved. Daycare said she did great on the soy formula. That was our win for the day.
eggplant / 11861 posts
Of course on this day she fights her nap soo hard and will not go down in crib, resulting in her now up.......I won't back down...lol

i know that *sleep begets sleep*, but it really seems like we have our worst nights when 1) e naps well & long for her 3 typical naps AND 2) her 3rd nap ends around 3, which means that she is up too long (3-3.5 hrs) before her usual bedtime. it's almost like she sleeps too much during the day, but still then manages to go down overtired. that's what happened yesterday, and she was up at 745p, 945p, 11p, 2a, and 5a. UGH. i may try to keep her up longer between naps during the day (even though she goes down without a peep, just put her in her crib awake!) and time them a little better so her last awake time is only 2ish hours.
@faithfertility: e is still not a fan of the bottle either. she will take a couple ounces at a time, but not actually eat a full feed. i'm pretty nervous because i'll be away from her for a whole week at the end of june. but...she won't let herself starve, right? my first was so easy, but i think it's because she got 3 bottles/day starting at 12 weeks (before she knew enough to protest?).
