@MamaG: It must feel great to get those things done! I definitely know what you mean - we do a fairly good job of keeping things tidy (in piles), but we never have a chance to make any progress. The toys, clothes, etc are creeping up on us!

Ryan has atarted waking at 5/530 the last few weeks. He previously had an 8 pm bedtime but now it's 7. My other son woke at 5 until age 1 and I forgot how brutal it is. Last night 2 night wakings still up AF 530. Babies!!!!!

We are up. 6 month pictures today. Why does sunrise have to be so early... Lol
pomelo / 5660 posts
@winniebee: is he hungry? Or is he having trouble transitioning sleep stages?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: not hungry at 530. He wakes happy. At 6 he wanted to eat. I think 530 is just his naturally occurring wake time :(. Yesterday I nursed him right when he woke at 530 hoping he would go back to sleep but he did not.

Id like some consistency in sleep. One night K will do amazing, the next a wake up or two. Of course I'd prefer amazing sleep, but I just want to know what to expect each night.
Good luck with photos @banddmommy:, I'm sure they will be great.

@MamaG: We are the same way......1 wake, 2 wakes, 3 wakes even a STTN all in the same week!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: woof that is early!!! Sorry!
@BandDmommy: Have fun! Can't wait to see!!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: we're up somewhere in the 5am hour almost every day too. I remember M being the same way for a long time. I think it's really common but, man, it sucks!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: hope your pictures go well!
@MamaG: @FaithFertility: i hear you on the inconsistency. It's so hard not knowing what to expect!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Haha I just expect the worst and then anything ok is a nice surprise. He's never STTN so I know not to expect that.

So pics went well. She kept pulling to stand though. But she has the biggest smile when she stands so they should be great pics. The photog said she has never seen a 6 month pull to stand. Ladies, I fear she will be walking by 9 months.

@banddmommy: early walkers aren't SO bad! K was pretty early (10mos), although maybe i'd prefer stationary a bit longer for LO2.
@winniebee: can you blame your DH for the low sleep needs? luckily both of my girls seem to have gotten mine!
K just asked if she can have beer when she gets big like daddy. Hmmmm....
Another good night with only one wake-up at 230a, up for the day at 630a. I could handle this!

@winniebee: Kara has to sleep around 9 now b/c if she goes to sleep by 7-8, she wakes up and stays up for 2 hours for sure! She seems to only want to sleep for 10 hours and that's how her body is regulating... Instead of just waking up for the day early (which is bad too), she would stay up MOTN and wait to go back to sleep! So now I have to let her take a cat nap while nursing, then stay up with her till at least 9.

@KayKay: Hahaha!
My dad used to always let me have sips of whatever he was drinking lol (of course I was like 10+).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: I am sure the pictures are great; she is super photogenic!
And while I love every milestone, it is so scary that they are more and more mobile... Kara barely lets me feed her, so she is full on baby led eating haha. She has to feed herself!

Anyone doing formula at daycare and nursing in a.m. and p.m.???
Sorry if you have stated before!
This is the route I'm trying to take, come End of July!
Teaching I just can't see time to pump
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I don't right now but will eventually head that way! I was about to starting supplementing when my supply dipped but then it kinda went back up.
A popular way is to mix with BM first and then gradually decrease the BM but it seems like a lot of babies are totally fine too switching completely.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: That is what I'm trying now with bottle/sippy
I thought maybe it would be a treat... yeah ok!
I mix her cereal with formula so she knows the taste
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: not quite the same, but when K was almost a year, I stopped pumping at work. I initially did frozen breastmilk, then cows milk, in her sippy cups during the day, but was still bf morning and evening. it worked fine! it actually made weaning super smooth and easy because i just gradually dropped the daytime feeds (pumps, in my case), and still had perfectly fine supply at wake-up and before her bed. then when i eventually dropped those, too (one at a time), it was not hard on my body at all.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: That's good to know... I don't know how long I can keep up this pumping gig!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I know people who have done exactly what you said you want to do!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: I'm blaming him. I STTN at 9 weeks and was a good napper and sleeper until I became a stressed out adult ; )
@BandDmommy: my best friend's daughter started crawling at 4 months and walked by 7.5. it was crazy! brennan walked early nd he was a preemie so I'm sure D will walk early too!
@snowjewelz: T was always a 10 hour a night sleeper so I can't say I'm surprised. I was hoping that with an 8 p.m. bedtime Ryan would sleep til 6 but he doesn't so 7 p.m. it is.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: So cute! I can't believe she's pulling up so much. She'll be walking before J is sitting
@KayKay: Nice sleep!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@winniebee: she army crawls now.. I think she is trying to get the heck away from B!
pomelo / 5660 posts
I may have let brennan skip his nap because car 2 was on and I didn't feel like battling with him. Lazy parenting for the win.

@winniebee: What crawling at 4 months? Crazy!!! Some babes are ready to move!
pomelo / 5660 posts
Have you guys baby proofed your home? We were baby proofed but I feel like it's harder with toddler who likes small toys aka cars.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@BandDmommy: No we really need to! Her room is super baby proof, but before we know it she will be on the move!!!
We need to put things up/away and get in the habit now!!!!!!
pear / 1961 posts
The only babyproofing we did in our house this year was plug the outlets. A couple of the kitchen/bathroom cabinets had guards on them from previous tenants, so we just made sure to put cleaning supplies/breakable cookware/medicines/etc into those with the locks. We never did baby-gates because K was 2.5ish when we moved in and could do stairs fine. If E starts crawling and getting into things before we move, we might have to do something, at least about the stairs. The floor plan is so open, though, that I might just get one of those baby play-yard things to contain her!

we haven't baby proofed yet but micah is not close to being mobile yet!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@BandDmommy: Small toys are our problem as well. I just sorted a bunch of them out and put them in another room in hopes that they will be played with less for awhile. We still have our baby gates, we will just have to put them back up, but we won't until K is crawling really well. That's likely about 3 months away for us.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
No baby proofing yet but I think Ryan has a few months until he is mobile.
eggplant / 11861 posts
Bedtime seems to be getting earlier and earlier.... down at 7:15 tonight....
honeydew / 7283 posts
We haven't done any new baby proofing yet. We still have a gate at the top of the stairs because it's a long fall to the tile floor below and we have all of our cleaning products, etc out of reach. M has been such a cautious child that we didn't really have to do tons of baby proofing to begin with. I'm guessing it will be different this time!
@BandDmommy: I'm sure it's going to be much harder with a toddler around!
