@FaithFertility: That's great! (I'm assuming?). I'm a big fan of early bedtimes

@MrsF: Yeah Doesn't seem to make her MOTN wakes any different so why not!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: this is a recent phenomenon here too. He just can't deal with himself come 630 so 715 bed it is.

@winniebee: She is napping around 3:30 ish so wakes between 4-4:30 so by 7 she is tired!!
But......she was up at 5:15 and was tired still didnt wanr to play yet didnt want to be up... but wouldn't go back down
I finally rocked her in chair and she passed out

My crap napper is asleep in her crib and has been for about 1.5 hours . May this not be a fluke but a turn toward her figuring out sleep! She also slept well last night, but we've been in a good/bad every other night pattern all week. Maybe that will turn a corner soon enough too.
eta: I had to CIO to get here. I did timed checks but she wouldn't calm down. I don't like the crying, but she needs to sleep!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Nice!!!!!! I agree if they are miserable anyway might as well have them CIO to learn! I let G fuss in crib if she is fussing with me even rocking her, I mean if your going to cfuss why am I rocking you?
I hope this is a turn in the right direction!!
I think we do FIO....Fuss it out....lol
eggplant / 11861 posts
I just did a stroller to car seat, drive home car seat to crib transfer
Whoop feeling like a super Mom.....lol
pomelo / 5298 posts
And in other news, the whiny big kid is in her bed playing instead of napping. This is the luck of a two kid mom, right? I know I'm fortunate that at almost 4 she still naps, but I promise you she goes full steam all the time and still needs the sleep!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: that's great! we've yet to have any good naps in the crib....Ryan did take a 3.5 HOUR nap in the car yesterday (car to driveway nap...didn't dare move him so big bro and I played outside for hours in the driveway!) Yeah you are lucky your older naps. T gave up his nap before 3....and he does not stop. And only sleeps 10-11 hours at night. He's...unique ; )

@winniebee: Woohoo for the driveway nap. The things we do for sleep. C often doesn't get that much night sleep. Last night I think it was near 9:30 when she finally gave up and fell asleep and wide awake at 6:15. During the week I have to fight her out of bed before 7:00.

@faithfertility: impressive!
@winniebee: that's an insanely long nap, even for a car/driveway one!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: I know! Unheard of. I think he might be fighting something or getting a tooth. Fussy yesterday and today and had an almost temp today (100). Acting very toothish.

@MamaG: Great nap! We had to do some crying to get there too. Kid's gotta sleep though! Big kid naps are crazy here too... M is 2.5 - she'll go two days with no naps (literally doing somersaults in her crib) and then the next day she'll conk out for 3 hours and be furious when we wake her up.
@FaithFertility: Yes! Definitely super mom
@winniebee: Love the car / driveway nap. I hope a tooth pops through and you can get it over with!

@FaithFertility: that's amazing! I have only been able to do ergo to car seat and car seat to ergo transfers.
My nap options are slowly vanishing. First the swing at 2 months, and now the ergo at almost 6 months. He won't sleep for longer than 45 minutes in the ergo! Wah!

@BandDmommy: I'm in awe with D's milestone achievements! Great job! A is finally sitting on his own unassisted for a few seconds. I can't wait for him to start moving.

@MamaG: I hate the good/bad pattern. Why can't babies be consistent, hmm?? but that 1.5 hour nap is great - I don't remember the last time he napped that long.
pomelo / 5298 posts
The nap turned into 3 hours. That hasn't happened at home in a long time. The afternoon nap was short, but I wasn't expecting much. Who knows what tonight will bring.

@winniebee: How do you do it????
Day 2 up at 5:30.... but won't go back down, yet tired as all heck?!?
Hope R is at least happy when he is up!
She is sleeping on me in rocking chair, don't know what is up!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: lots of caffeine! Today he woke at 6 and it felt like sleeping in. Honestly I'm so used to running on fumes it seems normal. But I also pass out at 930 every night....hope it's just a phase for her!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: @winniebee: I'm definitely getting used to the early wakeups here too. J actually went back down after his 5am feeding today and I was shocked!
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: when she wakes up early does she fuss? E has been making noise around 6 (or earlier!) the last couple days but mostly babbling so I have been leaving her in there til 630 and not feeding her til 7.
pear / 1961 posts
We have had 4 nights in a row of only one wake up! 3 of the 4 were around 3a...the other was the day of her shots and was at midnight...but even so nothing after that! K did 2 MOTN feeds through 8 months so I wasn't even expecting this. Hurrah!
6 month stats: 25.5in and 14 lbs 13 oz.

So last night it was a tornado warning that had us awake motn. It was just a 15 minute one and we anxiously watched the news and did nothing. It was at 230 and I really didn't want to wake both kids and drag them downstairs. This is the wettest spring I've ever seen. Good news is our drought is over in Texas. Now the rain can move to California.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: yeah she is crying... I will either rock or try to feed her she will act like she is up for day then in 10-20 mins is rubbing eyes and fussy again
I usually let her fuss/play if she isn't crying....
She woke up with a full diaper so maybe tummy?
Even still she is a pretty good sleeper so I really shouldn't complain!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: that's great!
@MamaG: that must be so scary! Did you end up having to wake the girls?
pear / 1961 posts
@mamag: glad you didn't have to wake the girls...and glad they slept through the weather! just one more thing to add to the craziness, right?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: we opted not to. It was only a 15 minute warning and the activity was a showing on the opposite side of the warning box. Its a tough call to choose sleep over safety but ultimately our risk was low. We heard tornado sirens but they were faint so I think they were from another city.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: Good call. I was about to type "glad you didn't have to wake the girls" and then I realized I wasn't exactly sure if that's what you had said Glad you were all safe & sound!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: that's good sleep! I would take it!!! Healthy girl. @MamaG: so scary! Glad it worked out ok.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Guys I had had it with the ridiculous naps. On a whim I nursed Ryan just a minute or two before his nap and put him in the crib awake. He was pissed. I put on a show for bug brother (who likes to rescue Ryan from naps) got in the shower and when I got out 10 mins later he was sleeping on his tummy That was almost 2 hours ago. I think I'm now convinced enough to be camp CIO for naps.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: I feel you today we are in camp no nap, yet pretty fussy... I am beyond over it today...she screams if I even walk in her room? Really?? She has been up since 12, she just fell asleep nursing and as soon as I went to put her down blood screaming! I woke DH up because I can't do it anymore
She also is doing this ridiculous thing where she holds her legs up when I up her down and once they touch the crib she wakes??? WTH? l
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: I did this yesterday. And it turned into a three hour nap. I'm Firmly in camp CIO for now. Today's nap was only a little over an hour but the crying was only about 5 minutes. It's wor for us.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: @MamaG: I'm with you girls. Tolerating a little crying has changed my life.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: I'm sorry. it's so terrible to not be able to comfort them.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: DH got her down but she woke after 30minutes...... what can you do!
On another note she gulped down carrots
