@MrsF: Aww I know when they are sick, all bets are off! K has been having a runny nose and we're literally sucking her nose every hour!
@MamaG: Well put! I almost wish I have a higher tolerance for crying! Granted it's not the only reason we're not sleep training... When we get those really rough nights I really question why we wait! But deep inside I just still don't feel it it's for us yet!
@KayKay: I saw all your gorgeous pic! I bet it was a fun trip! It's crazy how much you miss in just 1 week! K cut her 2 bottom when my mom was gone for a week too; she came back and said K looked different too!
@whenoceansrise: Totally get where you're coming from! I always wait.. Sometimes she soothes herself back to sleep, sometimes doesn't. But if I don't intervene soon enough for the times she can't, then she is just up and upset and totally awake! They can def self soothe... I'm just hoping they naturally get better at it!

@banddmommy: ireland would be awesome too! i honestly didn't do that much sightseeing since i was the maid of honor and had to do a lot of helping with last minute wedding to-dos, prep (nails, hair), etc. so i just told B that i saved it all for when we go back together someday. mostly i spent lots of time catching up with friends, drank lots of champagne & rose, and ate a lot of cheese & baguette

@BandDmommy: I will take any vacation anywhere right now, lol!

@snowjewelz: Seriously, me too. We haven't been on a vacation since 2011!

@whenoceansrise: That's great that he was able to fall back to sleep on his own! It probably makes sense to give him a few minutes before you go in in the MOTN. I always make sure to look at the clock and say "ok - I'll give him 5 minutes" or whatever. If I don't look at the clock one minute feels like 20!

@KayKay: I'm so jealous of your trip! It sounds amazing and it must have been great to come home and see your kids Clapping is such a fun milestone!
@snowjewelz: No joke. I could stay at the motel down the street and it would feel like a vacation.

@KayKay: Interesting chart... shows how bad we are with sleeping! E only gets about 10-1/2 hrs of night-sleep during the week and is typically taking only 2 naps a day, unless we get a short nap in the car.
Glad you had a good trip and yay for clapping! I've been trying to get E to clap too.

@MrsF: Sorry for the sickness going through! I just told DH we need to open the windows and anti-bacterial everything in our house, it feels like it just keeps going in circles between the three of us. E's congested again today and I'm still trying to kick this cold.

@josina: Sorry you guys have had so much sickness .
My sick baby was up for the day at 6:15 (no complaints about this, that's great for him) and stayed up until 2pm!!! He lay on his side and moaned through his morning nap and didn't even fall asleep in the car doing errands! He's sleeping now, thank goodness.

@MamaG: Well put! I think like you say all babes are different and as parents we will know when yo try different tactics!
@snowjewelz: yeah my cry tolerance is 0...I need to work no this a little

@MrsF: poor baby!!!! Get well soon!
@josina: I ignore the charts. My kids do not have high sleep needs and never ever sleep 12 hours at night regardless of what I do!
@KayKay: fabulous trip!!!! Jealous us. And yay for clapping. Adorable milestone.

@MrsF: @Adira: We were at the visitation service last night and she saw me walking back to her and waved! I mean full on arm out hand wave!!!!!
Can they wave at this age? Hahaha IDK??

@FaithFertility: haha, I have no idea. I forget when Xander learned to wave.

@FaithFertility: K has just started waving (often to herself). Her wave is the open/shut hand wave. I've started using it when I leave and arrive at daycare to say hello and good-bye.

@MamaG: YES!!! She started it to herself in mirror too!!! I'm saying yes, she can wave then!
Soo exciting to see these things!

Does anyone else have this issue? Darcy gets out of the bottom of her sleepers at night. I snap all the snaps but every morning I come to get here and she is out of the legs.

@BandDmommy: ohhh my gosh...hahah no! She is such a smart cookie!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@BandDmommy: Like she's getting them unsnapped? Or is she able to slip her legs through the gaps between snaps?
Either way, nope - we don't have this issue. K does like to pull one of her sleeves over her hand and chew/suck on it though.

@BandDmommy: Maybe she doesn't like her legs covered? Maybe some zip up pajamas? I know Old Navy has some.

@FaithFertility: Too cute to the waving, daycare is trying to teach E to wave too.
E's thing is to flap his arms whenever he is excited. And I've noticed he knows when dad is home, he heard his truck the other day and I'll say 'dad's home' and he immediately looks to the door. They are so smart!
@BandDmommy: Nope! Darcy is amazing at everything I think.
We had one wake-up last night, but that may be just because he was up till 9:30... We'll see if we can do that again.

@BandDmommy: we have that problem. She also wriggles out of sleep sacks that have snaps at the shoulders. I've swapped all our snap sleepers for zips.
pear / 1961 posts
@banddmommy: we mostly use zip ones so haven't run into that problem yet. maybe she feels restricted
@faithfertility: we've had some waving too...actually, it's more like a little air salute. haha. i forget when they can do these things, so it's always a surprise to me when they figure it out!

@BandDmommy: We don't b/c she is STILL in her merlin magic sleep suit!

@snowjewelz: working on it...lol when she sees my ohone now she stops whatever she is doing and reached for it....lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: True! She knows where my phone is on our bed and when she wakes up she goes right for it!
@whenoceansrise: I knoow! My fav time is when I come home from work, she sees me, smiles, squeals and lunges forward for me

Waving! I love waving. Clapping and waving are so cute!

@winniebee: I'm anxious for clapping. She gets so excited when we clap for her and when we sing clapping songs (Happy and you know it, Pat-a-cake).
Our daycare also does baby sign and I'm anxious for her to learn a few. We've started to introduce them at home. Unfortunately, our best teacher, C, has forgot all of them in the past couple of years.
