@MamaG: I just started signing too! Right now I'm just doing eating.. What else did you do with C?
pomelo / 5660 posts
I'm excited for D to start daycare. I've been slack with her milestones. She will be learning sign language.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: There were a bunch. The ones that C used routinely were:
more, please, thank you, ball, dog (which was odd, since we don't have one!), eat, hat, nap, no, no bite, stop, and star.

@FaithFertility: @snowjewelz: K is obsessed with phones too! Along with tablets and remotes. Whenever she sees them she get this extra excited look and makes a beeline for them.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Miss Ariel: I prob encouraged it though b/c I've def shown her a video or two, and she knows music comes out of there when I'd put on songs and sing with her! Not to mention sticking it in front of her a million times a day taking pics/videos haha!

Went to service today! Wow, how beautiful! Their department showed such honor to him!!!!!
DH was a pallbearer as well so his day was tough!
I left G with my best friend, and well she cried a lot....lol
She just wasn't sure who she was I think.....
She felt bad, but I know G was ok...wasn't hungry as I filled her up and left avocado and a sippy
G needs to be a big girl

@FaithFertility: Glad you felt ok about it! Most of it is just in our heads!

Ahh. So I had been too busy/tired to have baby fever, but just found out coworker is pregnant with #2 due in Jan! It's crazy that even though K has been sleeping bad, I'm tired, work is busy, etc and I STILL get baby fever lol! And I still can't decide when we'd want to try for #2... Some days I want to TTC when K turns 1, some days I want to wait till she's 2...

@FaithFertility: aw! Also I think people that aren't around
Babies all day don't realize that babies cry
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Glad the service went well, that would be so hard for DH.
G is just shy, Ethan is the exact opposite! We left him at my Gma's for an hour one day and he got passed around to dozens of people and was happy as could be.
I left him with a different daycare lady yesterday, he hasn't been there since 3 months and I felt bad because he was sleeping when I left! I'm thinking he's going to wake up and be like where the heck am I and who is this lady?! lol. He was fine.
@snowjewelz: I soooo have baby fever. If it was financially smart I would totally get prego right now. We will probably (hopefully) end up with a 2 year difference.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
So Ethan has a rash, which I originally thought was chigger bites (on his belly/back), then thought was an allergy to carrots which he had Sunday night (rash showed up Monday afternoon) and just realized this morning its probably from the dryer sheet that I had thrown in the laundry without even thinking! Will be re-doing all his laundry tonight!
And, we have a cold again. Hoping we don't end up with another ear infection. Grrr.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Yeah, finance is a big part of it.. Rationally I'd want to wait till she's at least 2 to try, so she'd almost be ready or would be already going to public pre-k. I think that's probably the best for us too... I still haven't had a decent night's sleep, and ultimately I'd love to enjoy K alone for longer. But then at the same time the baby fever just hits you and all logic fly out the window haha!
Haha I was going to say I don't hear too many kids being allergic to carrots! I hope his cold doesn't take a turn for the worse! K has had a runny nose for over a week but thankfully nothing worse!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@josina: @snowjewelz: my plan was to wait till K turned 1 to start trying, so we'll see. Although it would be nice to have a few months where I'm not bf or pregnant, but I guess eventually I'll be done with both forever!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Miss Ariel: yeah that's def a huge pro! Good thing is I still have a long while to decide if we'll try or not end of the year!

Ah, I feel so behind! I've been reading off and on - so fun to hear about the waving and clapping
Just wanted to say hi and sorry I haven't been posting much!

@josina: Yes, she is definitely a shy girl!
Sorry about E and the rash/cold....bet he is still happy happy!
@snowjewelz: Yes to baby fever......I feel like I've had it since birth......lol
@theotherstark: Hi hope you and H are well!!!!

Milestone as a Mama.....I turned of sound to her monitor last night If I leave her door open a crack and ours I can hear her if she yells for us...
The monitor is so good it picks up every grunt, roll and slight wake up.....
I slept so much better, or I was just mentally exhausted!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: That's great!! So glad you got better rest! The thing that does suck about cosleeping is that I hear every noise!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I was so over the noise, lately my anxiety keeps me awake... so I since I can't turn my brain off I turned that off...lol

Are yall still losing hair? Mine has been horrible lately and I'm ready to chop it off. It's below my shoulders and I'm seriously considering a pixie. K likes to pull it, so I'm constantly pulling it back.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: ughhhh yes I actually just cut mine to right below my shoulders, it was soooo long, I also think it was breaking because i wear it back all day

@Adira: WTG Logan!
@MamaG: Mine calmed down a little, but I noticed the other day that I'm losing some again. M likes pulling the little hairs around my ears. Ouch!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Yep! Still losing hair. I think it starts to get better around 7-8 months, so I'm hoping that's true.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: That's great that you can still hear her without hearing EVERY little noise like on the monitor. It's so hard to sleep through anything!
@Adira: Yes! Great sitting Logan
@MamaG: I think my hair loss is getting a little better. I'm starting to grow little baby hairs along the hair line though. Not cute.

We're at my family's house on the Cape for the 4th. I love coming here and being able to introduce my kids to some of the things that I remember doing as a kid. It's kind of hard at the same time though. I'm the oldest sibling / cousin and the only one with kids so sometimes it just feels like everyone else is having a blast while I'm the one running around stressing about naps, feeding, potty training, the list goes on and on and on... I know that people think I should just calm down and go with the flow - but I'm also the one that everyone looks to when we're at the beach or somewhere else "fun" and the baby is crying (because he's obviously overtired) or the toddler needs to go potty, or needs a snack or a change of clothes. It's like people think that I should be able to relax but also magically have all of the things that we need and have well-rested, enjoyable children.
I almost cried at a restaurant last night because I was just trying to eat a 5 minute meal and instead I spent the whole time either walking around with a screaming baby or sitting on the floor of a public restroom (awesome!) with a toddler who needed to poop. I'm such a downer and my DH and extended family really are helpful, but there's nothing like being the mom
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: it took me way too long to figure out that "vacations" with kids (even with family to help!) were no longer relaxing. it's hard being a mom (THE mom!). you're never off-duty. hope you manage to get a couple relaxing moments in throughout the weekend!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: thank you It's not the first time that we've been here with two kids, and I definitely didn't expect to relax, but for some reason it's getting to me more this time. I want to enjoy my time with my kids and extended family, but I'm feeling like a grump.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Do you feel like you can tell your extended family that you are overwhelmed and it's time for someone else to take the lead, you need a break.
Nonetheless, hope you can get out of the funk and enjoy the rest of the weekend. It's hard being the mom.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: awwww I understand, and at the same time can't since you have 2!
I think being a Mom you are never "off" duty EVER!
STINKS!!!
I actually just left my Moms house and bbq early to have G nap at home, they are sooo loud and I understand that I can't have silence, but I mean you can not slam the back door 20 million times....lol
Not fair to her!
It never ends!
Hopefully maybe you can ask DH or a member to watch so you can take a glass of wine for a walk?
Maybe?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Ugh, I'm sorry. I'm totally the debbie-downer of group events too because I'm very much on my kids' schedules and don't like them messed up. I hate hanging with my in-laws half the time because they are always running behind and it messes me and the kids up. Or I'll refuse to do something because it's during nap time or past bed time. So I feel you.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: oh I feel you! We are at the family lakehouse and family friends are here too. I'm the only one who goes to bed at 10 and everyone gives me crap but ummmm I am waking twice a night with a baby here and up for the day at 530.....and everyone else sleeps too 7 or 8. Also I mixed fireworks for Tyler because hey are at 930. He doesn't nap and bed time is 8. And sorry a convenient dinner time is not 730 for us. It's also hard not having all of the baby stuff in my arsenal (jumper, all of his toys). Been here 3 days and ready to go home!

@MamaG: @MamaG: me I hate my hairline it's all cowlicks!
