@BandDmommy: haha ha yes I feel like he should realize it's day there's a shrieking 2yo in his ear!

@winniebee: that sounds a lot like our house! I keep thinking how different it is from when we brought M home and were whispering and tiptoeing around. This kid's learning to sleep in the middle of total craziness.

So J (4 weeks) has wanted to nurse forever since birth. He never eats for less than 30 minutes. Now today he's been eating for about 15 minutes and then falling asleep. I'm worried he'll be up wanting to eat all night long. Mabybe he's just suddenly more efficient?
He's a total chunky monkey with tons of wet diapers, so I'm not worried in that area.

@rattles: I had the Maya and sold it.. I'm so picky. I also sold my moby and boba.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: mine started eating for less time too after 1 week. I think they get more efficient at it?

Logan has been cluster feeding for a couple hours now, so I'm hoping that means we're in for some decent sleep tonight! Fingers crossed! How's it going for everyone else?

@Adira: Babe finally pooped Dr wasn't too concerned since they are coming to our home tomorrow!
Today she has been feeding every 2 1/2 hrs it seems sooo I got a couple naps in!
How is your nipple pain? My right is chapped and kills at first, I cringe thinking of it
Hope you get some good sleep!

Any new moms feel like you are 1/2 sleeping when you sleep? I try but I'm still half awake?

Hey everyone! How's it going? We've had guests in town so I've been a bit crazed and not on my computer, but wanted to see how all the Nov/Dec LOs are doing!
How is sleep going? I'm doing a 10:30/11 Dreamfeed and then N's having 1:45/2 AM and 4:30/5 wake-ups, and with the later feeding it's taking a while to get him back down. Anyone else do Babywise? Advice? I'm really hoping to consolidate the 1:45 and 4:30 into a single MOTN wake-up, and have no idea how to do that!
Happy Holidays to all-all I want for the holidays is sleep;-).

@FaithFertility: We love our Moby-he didn't love it at first, but now will settle in it and often takes a nap. Great if your baby is at all fussy/reflux-y! I bought a less-popular color on Amazon so it was a little cheaper.
@snowjewelz: We're on about 10 minutes on each side, and I'm wondering if that's even getting to be a little too much as he's spitting up a lot more the last few days. I'm going to try a minute or two less on each side to see if that helps or hurts!

@ChiCalGoBee: Aww guests are tiring I'm sure. ....ours arrive Tuesday but that includes my Mom so I am thrilled!
Is baby wise a sleep program?
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: definitely half sleeping because I'm listening to all the grunts and noises and thinking he's going to want to wake up and eat any moment.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: yes, and when DH has her and I nap I swear inheqr hwr cry and he says nooo...lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I am OUT when I get to nap/sleep! Lol! But somehow I hear her tho!

@Adira: today he demanded feeds at 7, 9, 11, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 (and that doesn't could from midnight - 7) About to put him down for the "night" and hope that means more than a 2 hour stretch which is all I have gotten for a week.
nectarine / 2028 posts
@FaithFertility: Yes-like all "sleep training" programs it is a bit controversial (at least I assume it is?!), but we need it. N is a *horrible* daytime napper, and as a result ends up overtired every single day. He and I will do SO much better on a schedule! My neighbor used Baby Wise with both her kids and they were both STTN (10-12 hours) by 12 weeks. This week is insane with the holiday and we're going to my parents house for a few days, so I'm planning on just getting through this week and then really going whole hog with it the Monday after Xmas. At that point N will be nearly 7 weeks old-hard to believe! Link to the book: http://www.amazon.com/On-Becoming-Baby-Wise-Nighttime/dp/1932740139

@winniebee: OMG that feeding schedule's INSANE! How are you doing with such a demanding schedule? Hang in there:-(
@snowjewelz: I'm jealous....I used to always get drowsy after BFing, but that's stopped...actually, last night I had a super hard time falling back asleep after he woke up each time
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Yay for pooping! my pain is... okay. Sometimes he seems to latch okay and then other times it's torture! My right side is worse than my left. I think it might be bruised... it's discolored at the tip.
And yes to the half sleeping! I was the same way with Xander and felt like I was never getting any real sleep. I'm much more relaxed this time, so it hasn't been as bad.
@ChiCalGoBee: Does your LO take a pacifier at all? That's how we were able to get Xander to drop MOTN feeds. We'd offer that first and he'd fall back asleep if he wasn't really hungry. Then he eventually stopped waking.
@winniebee: Hope you got a good stretch of sleep after all that eating! Logan gave me three hours! Hoping I get a couple more good stretches out of him.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: I think it's cause I only nap like once or twice max during the day!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
So ped called and we have to take K in today to redo her thyroid test. They said it doesn't mean nothing bad but Im all worried now!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Oh man, I hope nothing is wrong!
Ugh, Logan just did a good stretch of sleep, but it tookme FOREVER to fall asleep myself!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: ugh I know and then it's time to get up again!
@BandDmommy: K last ate at 2 and she is up again... 2.5 hrs

E has been a champ today!! I had to go in for a quick outpatient surgical procedure as a complication from my delivery (yeah- it sucked!!) and the whole family went and she lasted like 3 hours without eating (I fed her when we left the house but didn't have time to feed her before I went in!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@cheert16: glad everything was ok and she waited for you
Ugh K faked me out! She didn't really eat at 4:30. Woke up at 5:30 instead starving!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: awwww I'm sure all is ok!
@Adira: my righy nipple is the same way, ouch!!!!
@cheert16: ughhh I'm sorry! Yya for good baby!!!
We have had an awesome night I wake her every 3 hrs and then she goes right back to sleep! Happy Mama!!!
Anyine else feel like Super women when you accomplish a good feed?!?!?
BF is the most fustrating/rewarding/timeconsuming/bonding
Thing ever!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Yes! Someone needs to tell my brain to turn off so I can sleep!
@BandDmommy: I hope it's a growth spurt too! Logan was like that last night, but I think it was just because he didn't eat enough during the day...
@cheert16: That's awesome about E waiting for you to eat!
@FaithFertility: Sorry you are also experiencing this nipple pain! And yay for good MOTN eating and sleeping. Totally agree about breastfeeding being so frustrating but rewarding!

E has been nursing every two hours pretty consistently around the clock, seriously lacking on sleep, I struggle to stay awake while he is nursing.
@snowjewelz: hope everything is OK!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I feel like at night when I'm nursing Logan in bed, his latch is actually pretty decent. And then during the day when I'm nursing him ibm the living room, it isn't as good. WTF?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: I'm the same, in her rocker I get the football hold on point on the R side only, on couch I can cradle hold pretty good both sides, I can't nurse in bed yet ours ia kinda high and getting in and out of bed with her is a chore being sore hopefully we can try soon!
pomelo / 5660 posts
I finally got her to sleep a 3.5 hour stretch! Yay! But besides that she was up every 2 hours.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: it's an amazing feeling when you have w good/normal day/night!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I think I react too fast to her stirring... I'm gonna try to wait a lil longer to make sure she really is waking up to eat next time!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: hope you got a good stretch of sleep! That's a lot of eating - although J has some days that look a lot like that. It's exhausting!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: ugh - that's the worst! It makes me crazy when both kids and DH are sleeping and I'm just lying there in bed
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: I have the total opposite situation! I feel like his latch is good during the day and like it's crap overnight in the rocker. My left nipple is killing me!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
So DH has a sore throat.. Do I need to isolate him already?!
