@Adira: Aww I am sorry!
@FaithFertility: Boo! How did he get stuck with that?
@josina: Oh man, and I hear we have a bad winter coming!
I had her solo this morning AND I had to to drop off... 1/2 hour late to work, exhausted, lol. However, I have to go out to dinner tonight for my boss' birthday... I don't think I've ever been out at night before!

Oh btw.. 10 month appt update -
- Got her toe pricked too. They took blood and dr said she's a bit anemic (my mom and I are both anemic so it might be genetic). I have to do a lil poop swap; he wants to test if she's losing microscopic blood in her poop?? 11 is normal and she was 10.6 so he said it's only ever so slightly
- She is 20 lbs (60%), and I swear she didn't stretch out fully for height (she hates laying down so she was fighting it!) b/c she is like 25% height at like 27.5" but I really think she is at least 28"... Or I just have a short and chubby girl.. lol
- Got a flu shot (and I guess DH and I need to also...)

@FaithFertility: I'm sorry : ( I"m with you....my husband is on call Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve this year. I can't even talk about it : (

@faithfertility: @winniebee: yep, sucks. Mine is on-call the day before Thanksiving, Christmas Day, and January 30. being the new guy blows. But we are mostly used to celebrating on random days by now....it's just worse with kids, especially as they get older.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: Yeah that's exactly it. At 3.5, Ty definitely is excited for the holidays. And now we live close enough to grandparents and cousins that we want to celebrate with them. Thanksgiving we'll host my in laws....and Christmas I'm not sure what we'll do. NYE....that holiday is a joke now that i'm old and sleep deprived

OMG the holidays, y'all. Last night C was having a particularly bad night. My DH announced to her over the camera/intercom that Santa was watching. The smart one told him it was only October, Christmas is in December and that's when Santa comes! He said, "I PROMISE you, Santa IS watching". She shot back, "NO, I PROMISE YOU, it is NOT Christmas". Lord help me, she is FOUR!

@josina: @FaithFertility: @KayKay: @winniebee: So many people working holidays! We rotate the winter holidays (two 12 hour shifts per holiday) so this year I'm working Thanksgiving "eve" and day, next year Christmas eve and Christmas day, etc.
I always feel sick just thinking about it and it definitely gets harder and harder as the kids get older. Missing Christmas next year when Molly is old enough to be excited about it and know I'm not there is going to be especially brutal

@MamaG: Hahahahah!
@MrsF:
I need advice! So K's teacher wrote a note about lunch - that she does not want to stay on the high chair for long so it's hard for her to finish lunch and she welcomes my suggestion... Except she can sit in her high chair at home for as long as our meal lasts and eats with no problem... I know when she's there it's because she's distracted... Do I just say just keep trying till she gets used to it!?

@snowjewelz: Those height measurements are tough with wiggly babies! I swear J isn't as short as they say he is
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: That sounds pretty normal! I can't imagine what you're supposed to do about it. Is she distracted by something else going on in the room or she just doesn't want to eat? Maybe she's feeding her to close to when she gets a bottle and she's not hungry yet?
My son has never turned down food so I'm probably useless in this department
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I know it's so baffling b/c she has never had any problems eating! And when we're at church it's a similar setting where she eats in a room full of other people! I gotta investigate more...
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: How many high chairs do they have? Our daycare has enough for all the babies. So they all sit in them (in a circle) with the two teachers in the middle helping them as needed. It's peer pressure at it's earliest stages. Thankfully, there's always someone to lead the charge that they all try to follow.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: haha. yeah I see a bunch of highchairs and it seems like the set lunch time is 12:30 so I'd imagine that they all eat together... I'll ask tho!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: Before 1, food is just for "fun" --- so, I would try to instill good eating habits and at meal time, sit in high chair and eat until she wants out. When she wants out, meal is over! Ryan does this at home when he wants to get down and play. And then he tries and eat up all of the food he dropped on the floor before I can get to it. We did a lot of letting our first "eat on the run" and I won't do that again!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: eeeek! I am getting a LOT of back talk these days. These kids!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: So much sass! I can absolutely see Molly saying that (particularly in a year). These kids!

@winniebee: I'm with you on NYE being a thing of the past... and of course that was the holiday that I was supposed to work last year when I was out on maternity leave! Why couldn't it have been my year for Thanksgiving or Christmas?!
and please nobody suggest another maternity leave for next year! (we'll see)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: So I guess at daycare I'll just let it go. It's just weird b/c she is such a great eater at home and never really whines to get off!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: huh?!? G is the exact opposite ,EATS all her food no issues drinks her sippy in less than 5 mins home sippy takes FOREVER most days....lol
Kids...lol
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: We have the same sippy problem at home. It's like a toy and she plays with it. But at daycare, chugs it up. I gave up and just give her a bottle at home. I'll fight that battle next month.

@MamaG: OMG too funny!
@FaithFertility: @winniebee: Yay for teeth finally! M's 2nd bottom is either really close or starting to poke through. He doesn't like to cooperate for me to check.
We had a bad night before bedtime last night because he knocked a drink can out of the fridge and it fell on his poor little toes (hurt the tip of his big toe) Felt so bad for him.

Logan has HFM. This explains a lot. He looks like he has the plague... He's covered in blisters.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: ohhhhh no!!!! When did he get blisters? Poor poor baby!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: We noticed the beginning of blisters yesterday and he was really itchy. He has ezcema, so I didn't put it together until today when he got blisters around his mouth and the ones on his hands got big and obvious.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@adira: ohhh no, thankfully he has a mommy that knows what to look for!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: @FaithFertility: I'm not positive that I'm remembering accurately, but I think now that he has the blisters, he might be past the worst of it. I hope so anyway!

@FaithFertility: @winniebee: @KayKay: aww I'm sorry. That is rough
@MamaG: little sassafras!!! Haha you're in trouble.
@Adira: aww poor boy
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: you know what earlier when you mentioned how bad he was last night I almost mentioned HFM. Sorry mama
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Good intuition!! Already he's sleeping better tonight than last night, so hopefully that's a good sign. Though it's still early!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: When K had it about 6 weeks ago, her fever started on a Saturday. Blisters started on Sunday and they were all pretty much ruptured and scabbed by Thursday. She had it BAD, her daycare said they had never seen it so bad. She's still got some scarring on her legs from it. I would say Day #3 (Monday) was the worst for us.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: I don't even know if Logan had a fever! He didn't on Monday, but I didn't check the other days. Now that he has the blisters and they are starting to burst, he's past the worst of it, right?
