@FaithFertility: That's why I moved K up to 18 mo already; she can use the extra room! It was too long for her a while ago so I stuffed her back into 12 mo but now she seems to fit the 18 mo nicely.

@MamaG: We are opting for a smaller fake tree so it fits into this corner we have that's blocked by the babygate anyway!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: K did that for like a week and has been walking since! She isn't great at walking though; I always have to tell her to slow down and she likes to hold my hand so she can just run
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Oh yeah, K's naps are driving me nuts! We're officially in the some days 1 nap, some days 2 naps period. Yesterday, K napped for 1 hour the whole day, that was it. She stayed up 5 hrs before and after nap, went to bed at 6:30pm and slept till 6am. I have to force her to take a morning nap for her party b/c it's from 12-2!

@sandy: That is so sweet.
@FaithFertility: We have a Carters Child-of-Mine pair of fleece pj's that was super tight, but the reg. Carters pj's have been fine, we are in 18 month pjs. Glad your family will get Xmas together!!!
@winniebee: I think it took E a couple weeks from the first few steps to all-out-walking. And then it was just like overnight!
Hope his sleep gets better for you, and the move goes well! Exciting!!
@snowjewelz: E's nap ended up being during the party on gpa's lap for about a half hour, he fought it all morning! And that was his only nap all day, too much excitement!

@MrsF: to quiting nursing. I feel the same way. It's totally bittersweet! I think we will be down to just morning/night and then I need to start cutting those too, just not sure how to go about it (or that I really 100% am ready to!)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Ugh I know I am so worried! We had to force her morning nap too so she could go to her cousins bday party last Sat.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@josina: I feel the same way. I'm not sure I'm ready to quit either and it's not exactly something you can change your mind about after you've stopped!
It is nice to remember how much I hated nursing M and really disliked nursing J at the beginning and now to feel like this... we've all come so far!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I totally understand that it's hard to just stop! I always wish I could have kept up with nursing/pumping longer, so I'm no help in helping you decide either! On one hand I love life after nursing/pumping. On the other hand I totally miss it!

Who else is still nursing? I thought we were down to 3 sessions but it's 4. I always said I wouldn't nurse past 1...but I don't see weaning happening in the next 9 days.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: We nurse every night basicly right before she goes in crib, I think it is more out of habit for us both and I love it when she cuddles, some nights she pushes away!
I also offer MOTN if she wakes and won't go back down, sometimes it works sometimes not!
IDK.....I am still into it for now..... It is hard
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: do u still feel let down? I feel like I'm still going strong get full still!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: @MrsF: right there with you!
I nursed her in my bed this weekend well to extend a nap...awful I know but I LOVED it!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: ahhh yeah we are there with ya! 1 nap 2 naps, 3 naps because of car...it is a crap shoot

Omg G is OBSESSED with holding my one finger and I mean barley a grip and just running in circles all over the house, my back is killing me.....walk already kid!!!!

@MamaG: Decorating tomorrow, I'll keep you posted, so far she could care less!

@winniebee: We're still nursing. On weekend I still nurse instead of use bottles. On weekdays I normally nurse first and last thing of the day and pump twice at work and once before. Although I've decided I'm cutting out my last pump tonight!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: still nursing here! We are pretty solidly at 3x/day (early morning, after lunch/before nap, and before bed). Tonight I had DH put her to bed using a cup of BM and she only took 2 sips so we will see how the sleep goes. assuming dropping that feed goes fine, I'll probably drop the others over the next month or two. I'm not in a big hurry and like the potential immunity boost over the winter, but I'm also kinda over it. Unless she is super snuggly. Then I want to nurse forever. Haha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: oh yes the back pain! I'm trying to not let her hold my hand bc she knows she can run that way! But she also sucks at walking with the rubber sole shoes lol
So DH sneakily made her bottle before bed with warm WCM and she totally drank it all! On Sunday we also just packed milk and she drank it all out of sippy! I think in the absence of formula she really will be fine! Before we were always offering in addition to and I guess she was full enough with formula and solids!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah she is pretty demanding on holding that finger.....lol
She can totally walk with out it I believe, soon!!!
Aw yay to WCM! Nice to not have to buy formula soon!!

Wakes are getting early again
5:30-5:45!
I think most days over all she gets 11-12hrs of sleep all day!!! Is that normal?!
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: probably on the low-ish end of normal? i think E is about 13-14 hours a day between night and naps, although it obviously varies.
E went down fine without nursing or really drinking anything before bed, but woke up fussing before 10p. after 30m, i gave in, nursed her, and she slept all night. i think i'll try it every night this week, and hopefully it eventually takes. i need to make sure to fill her up good at dinner!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: Yeah she is happy as a clam, so I just go with it!
Weekends she gets more as she will take a morning nap even if it is 30 mins
She napped 12:30-2 at daycare and slept 7:30-5:30 last night so that is 11.5 hrs
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: K does not ever get 12 hrs anymore. I think she gets 13 hrs total for the day! G will walk in no time! I stopped letting her hold my hand and she didn't want to wait around for me so she is walking by herself a lot more now, lol!
Man, another 1 nap day yesterday. I got home just in time to put her to bed. She woke up sooo many times last night too! I read on the wonder weeks app tho, this is a pretty brutal leap!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: I agree it's on the lower end of normal. K normally sleeps 11-13 hours overnight and nap is 1.5-3 hours. She's somewhere between 12.5 and 16 hours of sleep. She's mastered sleeping and eating.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: I don't think E gets much more sleep than that. Last night was 10 hours overnight, he'll usually nap for 2 hours during the day... I think he usually gets 12-13 hours.
Our tree is up and Ethan hasn't been too bad... he wanted to play with the bulbs while we decorated which luckily I have non-breakables, and last night took a couple ornaments off the bottom, but nothing we can't handle. And it makes for adorable pictures.
@winniebee: I dropped my daytime pump, so now we nurse at 6 pm, 8:30 pm, and 5:30 am. I don't think I'm ready to give those up yet, so I'll probably keep nursing and hope my supply stays.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: We're still nursing! Logan just turned 1 on Sunday, so he starts bottle weaning this week (which he didn't like yesterday) and I'm going to start weaning off pumping. But I'm still going to nurse him morning and night for as long as he'll let me... he's my last baby, so I don't want it to end!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: hmmmm that's interesting she woke to eat so early!
Ryan has been doing well with WCM the past week. I'm giving it at meals and he seems to be taking at least a few oz at each meal. Then nursing morning, both naps, bed. Last night was the first night in a REALLY long time that he slept all night...til 6 and then nursed and back down til 8!!? Strange day. He's been sick so I'm guessing he's finally catching up. And taking real steps. It's so adorable to see him working so hard and getting so much better with balance!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: great sleep R! K was up so many times last night! I had enjoyed STTN for so long I forgot what that was like
Oh and full on attitude and tantrum from K now! And I think she self motivated to walk so she can get where she wants (since I don't her her go everywhere haha).
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: Nice sleep! Hope it's a new trend. We are still nursing just at bedtime. I doubt he's getting much though. I pumped once yesterday because it was a work day and got 1.5 oz (vs 40 ounces at my peak!)
@josina: That's great that Ethan's done well with the tree and yes - beautiful pics I don't want to jinx us but Jack's not very interested in it either.
@snowjewelz: Definite attitude here too! And much harder to distract him if he catches sight of something that he wants.

Did anyone else notice that this thread was created a year ago today?!? That makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy for some reason
Happy anniversary ladies!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: I did! It made me think that it was a really good time to start up a new one. But, well I haven't done it. We all have talked about it.
Happy Anniversary December Moms! Seriously, y'all have been the best support, sounding board and companions in this journey. Gosh looking back at newborn days, it was rough.

Should we start a new thread for our 1 year olds ("December 2014 Moms & Toddlers" perhaps)?
