@winniebee: Hang in there till your appointment!! I know it's SO hard not to think of the worst. But from people's comments it really seems like the chances is low!!

@winniebee: I saw your post and have been thinking of you! I hope that your next ultrasound can alleviate any fears you have. I know how hard it is to not worry constantly, but take care of yourself too. Big hugs!! ️

@MamaG: three inches?! Holy cow! They are sprouting up like weeds, these kids!

Hi guys! I wish I could keep up with you all more, but I had to come and tell you all our amazing news. Charlie is coming home!!! Just a few days before his 18 month birthday he should be discharged from ChildServe. I am nearly in tears just typing it. I haven't posted on Facebook yet but wanted to share here. You have all been some of our biggest supporters. I may not know you IRL nor am I great at keeping up with you, but I count you all as friends. Thank you!!

@MamaG: 3 inches! That is crazy! And good job getting K off the pacifier! My DD kept hers til she was 3. I wished we had tried to get rid of it sooner!

@MrsF: the earliest they can see me is June 2. AKA over a week away. I can't eat, can barely sleep. And I have a jury trial starting June 6. This is a nightmare.

@MrsScallop: That is AMAZING NEWS! Congratulations. You are such an awesome mama.

@MrsScallop: oh I just could not be happier for you guys!!!! Such amazing news! Happy tears over here thanks for thinking to keep us updated!

@winniebee: uggggh I'm so so sorry. And with a trial coming up!? Bah. I can't remember those tests very well; is that the sort of test where they cast a pretty wide net, just to give lots of cushion to catch every issue? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the best outcome for you.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@theotherstark: it's not a diagnostic test, just a screening test. anything over 2.5 is considered an elevated risk for an open neural tube. I was 2.69.

@MrsScallop: oh my goodness!!! So, so exciting! Will you guys have at home aid at your house? Wasn't that part of the reason it took so long?
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@winniebee: but still just an elevated risk, right? Not 'over x means open neural tube'? These tests are so stressful. I wish they could squeeze you in sooner!

@MrsScallop: Yahoo! I'm so excited for you, Charlie and the rest of your family. I hope the transition home is a smooth one and Charlie is able to find a good groove at home.

@winniebee: Boo to the wait, is there another specialist that can see you?

@winniebee: Big hugs! Will be thinking about you guys.
@MamaG: 3 inches is quite a jump! M had to go back to wearing 12 mo shorts because his 18 mo ones almost fall off. He's losing his buddha belly. LOL
@MrsScallop: Awesome news! YAY!!!! So happy for you guys.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@AngelicOne: We still have a full on Buddha belly I won't talk about what size of clothes my little chunk is wearing.

@MrsScallop: Amazing! I am in tears!!!!!!!! You deserve all the happiness in the world!!!!!!
What a great 1.5 yts old gift!

Thanks everyone! I am mostly in disbelief that this might actually be happening, but everything looks good so far. The next worry is getting the house ready in time, but I am sure we will make it work.
@winniebee: ugh, so sorry you have to wait so long! I am thinking of you and am hoping for the best!
@Miss Ariel: yes, we finally found a nurse then found out the next day a second one wants to meet us! We should have a nurse most days and maybe overnight a few nights. I can barely believe we have been waiting a year for nursing!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: And now you have two offers, that's great! And getting a few overnights would be awesome! What does Charlie need right now in terms of overnight? And by getting the house ready do you mean moving things around and getting equipment set up for him?
persimmon / 1328 posts
@snowjewelz: we are lucky that he sleeps really well and generally doesn't need much at night. The few nights i have stayed with him he just needs to be suctioned once or twice or at worst his dialysis needs attention. He does get fed at 11:30 pm and 6 am though. That will be the roughest part. DH has been redoing the second floor for 6 months and it still needs some dusty/fumey work along with some serious deep cleaning and rearranging to find space for the equipment coming in. Everything that needs to get done will I am sure, but I am going to freak out about it for a while.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MrsScallop: That is so amazing to have two nurses! Sooo Sooo happy for you guys! Hope the deep-cleaning / rearranging goes smoothly!
@AngelicOne: Happy 1-1/2 Birthday M!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: I see! So having someone there overnight for even a day or two will really help! I am so excited for Charlie to really know what home is from now on I'm confident your DH will def pick up the pace now to finish!!

M had his 18 mo appt today. He's grown 1.25 inches & lost a few ozs, weight-wise. She wasn't worried that he lost since he's so active now & not on BM anymore. He only got 1 shot since he's too early for the Hep A (by a few days so it's delayed until his 2 yr appt) and got fluoride film stuff put on his teeth.
Height: 31.5 in
