@snowjewelz: fill them up!! Cluster feed for a couple hours before bedtime!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan did a 3 hour stretch but was up hourly thereafter. At nearly 7 weeks this is getting very old! Before bed he nursed 40 mins but wasn't even really nursing but getting so mad if I took him off. Then acting like I had no milk at 4 am. I'm staying with my parents and I passed him off to my mom at 5 since I had a bottle. He fell back asleep until 630 and had a bottle and slept til 9. Perplexed.

@winniebee: Yep! I almost always use saline first, though he hates it.
Sorry to hear about R. That sounds so frustrating.

@winniebee: Micah is only going 1-2 hours at night. I feel your pain!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I wish I knew so I could make sure it continues......only thing different past 2 nights is I try to do some tummy/play time before we change/nurse for bed......maybe it is tiring her out??

@BandDmommy: have you been chatting with my DH? He seems to have baby fever too......lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@cheert16: she nurses for like an hour before bed. I gave a bottle once before bed but didn't seem to do anything; but then she was younger. I think some babies just sleep better!
@whenoceansrise: I hope he turns a new leaf after this phase!
@winniebee: Kara nurses in bed for 1+ hr too! She just won't sleep and wants to nurse nurse nurse!
@FaithFertility: haha let me try that. We don't really play with her at night since we thought we have to start winding down. And so easy for husbands to baby fever! I do not want to repeat pregnany and give birth again for now! We don't plan to try again till K is at least 1 so earliest is 2016!

And we are gearing up for blizzard Juno here on the east coast! Expecting 18-24" between Monday night and Tuesday evening!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Soooo not looking forward to the blizzard we're going to get! I just hope we don't lose power. Otherwise I don't mind being stuck inside!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I knoooow! I told DH to fill up the cars and get some extra groceries! I'm sure everyone else is doing the same thing!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Ugh. I'm going shopping in a little bit and the store is probably going to be packed!

@winniebee: man, get with the sleep program, Ryan!! You poor thing - I keep hoping that youll get more sleep soon. At least you could pass him off to your mom!

Eek. Sorry for those getting the snow. It's supposed to be in the 60's-70's here this week. I think I'll have to get the stroller out and take Micah for a walk!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: that would be so nice! I haven't used the stroller at all!
We are going to SILs house later, it's our first non dr outing! And we are also visiting someone's house next Sat. I def just overpacked the diaper bag esp when SIL will have everything I need anyway!

I'm nervous about the blizzard too! And annoyed that it's a Tuesday which means no school for my 2.5 year old!
I can't believe some have the stamina to stay home so much with the baby! We are out and about every day or else I would go craaaaaazy.
pomelo / 5660 posts
We go out all the time. I'd go stir crazy! We go to gym every morning. And then some other activity in the afternoon.

I wish I could get back to going out. It feels like with K being sick that it's best not to have her out and exposed more than necessary I'm normally content to be home, but I'm about to go crazy. I sure hope the doctor feels that she's ready to go back to daycare tomorrow.

I'm dreading this blizzard too. We have to get out or we all go insane (the toddler especially). What the heck am I going to do with these kids for 3 days? At least I'm still on leave so I don't have to sleep at the hospital (work) or anything.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: when do y go back to doc?
@MrsF: I have no idea what we are going to do! I'm planning to do all my errands tomorrow and leaving any house chores until we are cooped up. I think maybe some baking with my toddler and definitely at least one movie day. My husband will be working so it's not like I can take the baby outside with the toddler!
pomelo / 5660 posts
I'm so tired of being cooped inside with a toddler. Heading south in a few weeks. I need the sun! Or more importantly my son needs to play outside.

@winniebee: M is obsessed with baking lately. Yesterday was MSPI safe chocolate chip cookies

We see the dr Monday at 7:30. I took the earliest appt anticipating good news so I can get to work just a little late.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: I think I'm going to make them too! My recipe is Crisco based anyways I just need the good choc chips.

@BandDmommy: it's so hard during the week it's been so cold here! But we left the baby with my mom a few hrs and took Ty skiing yesterday. And my husband took him outside in the snow for a solid hour today. He's working all next weekend and I'm already dreading it.

We have just been going outside...as long as it hits at least 20 degrees. I have been solo a lot lately, and the toddler and the dog NEED to get outside for a bit or they will be terrors. So I just put E in the ergo with infant insert (so cozy!!) and a hat, and zip up my husbands winter coat around us. Luckily there is a trail right by us so the other 2 monsters can roam freely and burn off extra energy!!

We would go out more often but I am terrified he will get sick! This is my last week of maternity leave though so we will definitely have to get out and do something fun!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I'm a home-body, so I tend to stay inside a lot anyway, so having to stay in doesn't bother me. But Xander likes going for walks so this cold weather is hard on him. We went out in the snow today and he just cried. Apparently he hates the cold even though he was totally bundled up.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: sickness is always on my mind too but I either wear him of keep him in his carseat so no one else touches him. Plus I have a germy toddler who brigs everything home anyways!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
We have been going on at least two long walks a day - the dog needs to do his business and get exercise! I've mainly been taking the stroller, since I can bundle him up more. On Friday we went out to a coffee place and to get groceries. I worry about him getting sick too, though, so I've avoided public places as much as possible.
Thanks, all, for your advice on mom friends!! I'm excited to start scheduling playdates And @banddmommy: we will definitely have to get together soon!!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@whenoceansrise: I've given up on worrying about sickness. My toddler is a germ factory.

G is not herself today, kinda fussy and she is never fussy........... barley slept, hoping for another good stretch tonight!!!!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: I'm terrified as well! We go out to walk and parks to walk, but no indoor places....more DH then me I'd be OK with maybe BRU and grocery store.....

M is totally Mr Fussypants today. He keeps fighting sleep & looking for a boob when DH has him, but then doesn't want the bottle. I took him to Costco with me earlier so the car ride would put him to sleep.
I'm jealous of all the long stretch babies. We still get 3 hrs if we're lucky.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AngelicOne: Seems like all our babies have been going through a fussy phase lately! I guess that means it must be normal?
Logan has been sleeping all day. I'm assuming because he's sick. I just hope he still sleeps okay tonight...
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: H has slept most of today too. We had friends over, so it was nice he wasn't fussy, but it makes me nervous for tonight too!
