It honestly just sounds like it's related to menopause. Premarin cream (which helps with the dryness) can cost around $400 per month.

Uterine fibroids are fairly rare during menopause because fibroids grow from estrogen and menopause is caused by the lack of estrogen.

My mom has uterine prolapse and has something similar to a diaphragm that she wears to hold it up. Surgery is an option but this works for her for now so shes happy with it so far. She's probably had the diaphragm for at least 5 yrs. Recently went in for a new one to adjust.

@DesertDreams88: if it turns out it's just a menopause issue, my mom gets her progesterone cream and estrogen cream at a hippie store from a homeopath. It's a lot cheaper and does the job.

@DesertDreams88: o man. One of my mom's friends had the mesh put in at least a decade ago. I know there was a big class action against one of the companies but it doesn't seem to be the device brand she used.

All that to say, she used the insert and avoided surgery for about 3 years with it.

@DesertDreams88: a pessary is the “insert” option you’re mentioning and can be really helpful for a lot of women with prolapse!
