Tonight lo was just too overtired when we gave her her Hanukkah gift but it was a total flop! We gave her these cute little wooden milk containers to add to her kitchen/play food collection, and she was devastated that the bottles wouldn't open and started sobbing 
the other night We also gave her this cute board game (the "sneaky snacky squirrel game") and we played with it for like 5 mins before she decided it was "too scary"
Any one else have any flops??

Just his book. LO is so little he wants to put everything in his mouth and the personalized book I bought is not a board book. For the sake of the keepsake we had to put it away.

I put LOs booster seat under the tree. It was the pattern she told me she liked awhile back. She said, Oh that's something I need but don't really want. (Sheesh!)

mil gave lo a first words type board book and the first thing lo said was "I think this is a book for babies" lol I redirected her but definitely agreed!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: ooh that's a really sweet gift that he'll grow into and love soon enough! Lo received a personalized book this year from my brother and loves it

I hate to say it, but the Hot Wheels AI set from Santa was a flop. I don't know specifically why my son doesn't enjoy it, but he was not sad at all to pack it up and "donate it" when he played too rough and the wheels popped off.

Dd got a toy tablet that she hasn't looked twice at. I think because she rather just play with a real tablet that actually does stuff instead.

@Miss Ariel: aww yeah, if she knows the real deal the toy one probably isnt as fun! Lo was gifted one of those toy ones once, I think she only played with it to try to figure out what it could do and since it only made random beeps and boops it never held her attention long

I was pretty worried because my son had asked for "Ryder and a train" and we got him a big train table. A few days before Christmas he said "Mommy, can you tell Santa I don't want a train anymore, I just want Ryder?" I was freaking out that he'd be totally uninterested in his main gift. Luckily once he saw it he got excited.

Mostly the stuff from the in laws. They got some finger puppets that they totally couldn't care less about and LL Bean snow man kits that just got tossed aside. It snowed last night and even though they played out in it this morning they wanted nothing to do with the kits.

No flops with presents from us and Santa. The kids get a total of three gifts at home -- one from Santa, one from us, and one from their sibling. Keeps it simple, and we tend to get items that we know they will like (even if they don't know it at the time). Their stocking stuffers were overlooked on Christmas day but well played with once we settled back home. They were not thrilled with clothes or monetary gifts from family.

Well...DD was pissed water doesn't come out of her play kitchen faucet and that the play bowl of Cherrios is one big glob and not individual Cheerios... She's 22 months.

Got my 4 year old the doc mcstuffins operation game. Everything was good until it buzzed when the sides were touched and she ran away screaming. She wouldn't even go near it again so it's stored away in a cupboard for now.

DD got a game for 6+ and she's 3. So she was frustrated with it. Otherwise the kids were really into everything except clothes (which DD has loved in the past). DD also got dance lessons starting next week. She doesn't grasp the concept yet and wasn't into her leotard and slippers. We did a trial class last month and I think she's going to like it.

My 3 year old has been asking for a plaid shirt with buttons for months (a flannel shirt). Got her one. She waited until I took the tags off to refuse to wear it.
@MrsStar: c got a school bus last year that drove forward and back. She love most until it started moving and she lost her mind. Terrified. It even started going once when it was off- we had to remove the batteries.

DH surprised me with a contract on the waterfront lot we've been eyeing for months to build our dream home. He presented it to me Christmas night while we rode around "looking at Christmas lights". The only flop is that now we're hearing that we could need close to $80,000 worth of fill which would make it a total bust and we'd have to pass on it. Fingers crossed Santa doesn't take my present away!

Yes, but fortunately not a big one. Our building Playroom has a Little People bus that he loves. So I thought I'd get him one for our own apt. Well he doesn't care at all about the one we now have, but he still loves the one in our building Playroom. Go figure!
