With both girls, my mom was here for the delivery. But not at the hospital!
If we have a third, I kinda hope she'll be willing to come after the fact, so we can delay when the baby starts daycare.

Yes, my mom and dad stayed for a week after my twins were born, then my dad went home and my mom stayed an extra week. My ILs were here 24-7 for at least the first week (but went home to their house to sleep). And DH was off work for a while too.

Mom and Dad stayed at our house and took care of our dog while we stayed in the hospital. They stayed for a night afterwards.

My mom helped out the week after DH went back to work, so I had 2 week's of help. DH stayed in the hospital with me after both kids, so I had help as I was recovering from a C-section. He would help hand me the baby/change diapers/ect. immediately following delivery.

No....I mean my mom or MIL would come up randomly to help. But nothing consistent and nothing I could count on.

My mom was staying with us for 2 weeks after I had Evan. Now she lives with us, so she'll be taking care of baby girl for at least the first few months after I go back to work

Super immediate like post birth? My whole family was there, but by the time I pushed her out it was 11pm so we just told them to go home. My mom and MIL came with food a few times. My mom was def readily available whenever I needed once I got home.

Yes. We hired a post-partum doula for a few hours here and there. My mother was there for delivery but had to fly back to her home and couldn't stay due to her job. My in-laws didn't want to postpone their vacation (don't ask), so they weren't around either.

Not really? I had DH home for a month though, and his school set up a meal train for us. So I definitely wasn't alone immediately.
Personally I was really glad I didn't have a house big enough for people to stay in because I'm a very private person and I have a hard time relaxing in front of anyone except DH.

With my 1st we lived by my mom so she would spend a few hours each day helping me
With my 2nd we had moved - she stayed for 2 weeks and took DS to and from DCP every day and then helped me during the day - I cried sooo hard when she left

DH took two weeks off and my parents (who live nearby) came by to help almost everyday at first.

Well with LO2, our families alternated taking care of LO1 while I was in the hospital. He was born at 8am and around 6pm, DH went down to the ER and found out he had a kidney stone and had to go home because he was in so much pain. Sooo I was alone the first night after a c-section! Thank God for my nurses, they were AMAZING!!

No, we didn't but they were in the nicu for 15 days so we had a lot of nurses helping. My brother came out and we thought he would be visiting while the babies would be still in nicu but the babies ended up coming home 5 days before he came out. It was great having his help.

No, just DH and he was only able to take off for a week each time. I didn't want help and help wasn't offered on either side. I'm happy with that.

Mum was 100% committed to helping which was fantastic. She took a week off work and stayed at our place so we could get some rest. She cooked pretty much every night for me for my 40 days (greek style "confinement") and that was a huge help as I was a mess. This time around, she is starting 3 weeks off work as of 3pm today

The plan was for my mom to come and stay for several weeks, but she was recovering from an injury, so she couldn't come until about a month later, I think. It sucked.

My parents have come for the first week and plan to do the same this time. My sisters come for the second week. My MIL plays tennis and pretends nothing is happening.

My mom was there for 3 or 4 days after I got home from the hospital (she was also at my house for the 4 days post-delivery that we were in the hospital - she cleaned my whole house for me!)

My mom was with me during labor and for the first day post partum in the hospital. My sister came the night we got home from the hospital, and made us dinner. My mom came again the next day. Between the two of them- I had a lot of great support

No. But I liked it that way. Nobody needs to see me sore, huge and with my boobs out 24/7.
nectarine / 2987 posts
With my first we had some meals and visitors. With my second I had DH home for 48 hours and someone brought us dinner and took DS out to play for an hour or two every afternoon for about two weeks.
