Both my girls have very fair skin which surprised me because my husband is more tan naturally and I'm not super fair either. I think they are so beautiful, more than I imagined they could be.

@PrincessBaby: I felt the exact same way! Like, how beautiful is this little boy! He truly got a great mix of DH and myself.
Additionally his hair at birth was darker than I imagined it would be but now it's super blondie. And his eyes are a dark hazel and I thought for sure they'd be blue.

I thought my little girl would be dark hair, dark eyes, because of her daddy's heritage. She got the dark hair, but it has golden highlights in the sun & has BIG blue eyes. A nice surprise.

Not at all and by that I mean I had NO clue what my baby would look like (mixed Korean/Italian) so I actually couldn't picture him at all! Very pleased with the results haha!

Didn't even think about it until I saw my oldest. The first thing I said was, "omg, he's soooo cute!" with tears streaming down my face. I don't remember exactly what I said with my second, but do remember saying, "hi baby" and kissed him.

Not really! I like to think that my mind just couldn't create something so beautiful

Nope! DH is blonde with blue eyes, and I'm olive with dark hair. We expected her to probably be dark like me. She has raid hair, grey eyes, and peaches and creme complexion! I have no idea where the red hair came from. It's hilarious and adorable though, so I consider it a happy surprise.

@rachiecakes: ha, really?! That's so funny. Did the red hair ever stop being a conversation at family gatherings? Everyone loves to talk about it. And I get so many "mailman's baby" type jokes - that get old.

@Espion: This just reminded me...your DS#1 looks so much like my DH (as a little boy), it's ridiculous!
Who knows which hair color genes our kiddo will get, but I'm expecting light eyes!

I guess I pictured baby being a perfect mix of us, but no specifics in my mind. Instead, she's a clone of my husband. It's awesome!

I expected her to look more like me, but she looks just like DH. And her dark hair was a shock, we were both blonde babies, although DH's hair darkened as he got older.
