How often do you follow the mixing "like with like" rule for pumped milk, as in, you can mix two bottles of warm/freshly-pumped milk, or two bottles of cold milk, but you can't mix warm and cold?

I think this is a bit of a silly rule and can't find a good explanation for it. I follow it about 80% of the time but sometimes it's just more convenient to mix, rather than wait, especially if it's just an oz or so. I hate storing bottles with just 1oz to chill before mixing!

I'm probably not going to change my ways, but just curious!
