Pretty much. I'd say we are broadly both majorly socially liberal and fiscally conservative. My husband's field is mathematical finance (ie he does what caused the GFC) so we do have some differing views on the economy, mostly due to his detailed understanding of economics and my lack thereof! I sometimes feel like I care more about social issues than he does - he can be short sighted when things don't directly affect him (which as a reasonably affluent white male, not much does), but he will listen and usually agree with me when I rant about social issues.

Nope. I lean left and he is firm right. But neither of us are very politically involved so while it can definitely be challenging it's not a huge issue in our relationship, for the most part.

Yes. We are both Republican. But we also both voted for Hillary.

Sort of. We are both "independent/swing" voters except husband is really more a republican. He voted for gary johnson (to him it was either johnson or trump) and I voted for Hillary. After the election there was a massive week(s) long bash of the election results from various left wing friends. DH has had it and started complaining about them (to him he thinks that we should cut it and start moving forward and unite as a country rather than separating ourselves and spreading fear and rumor). I spoke up for them and explain why they are doing what they are doing. We had a fight, yes, about this stupid election and social media. DH almost, yes, he almost was going to unfriend me on FB because he thought I was one of them. When I am really neutral and I just can see why people are unhappy. Gosh. He did unfriend one of our mutual friends (more like my friend) over this.
