Hehe we're at the stage where we are reading books with real content. Yah know, couple sentences per page. Sometimes I skip pages. and sometimes she calls me out on it. LOL
Do you ever skip pages?

Haha yes. He gets to pick 3 books before nap and bed. And when one of those books is Polar Express you just make shit up or skip pages. He notices sometimes but not always

At 2, he definitely does! He says Mama oops!! My trickiest move is skipping right to Thing 1 and Thing 2 in Cat in the Hat, step in on the mat to big red wood box in a flash! That shit is like 60 pages.

@MamaChin: that book takes for.ev.er. I like the first half more but skip nearly all of the thing one and thing two section.
Big page skipper over here. Or I only read half the words on the page. Not always but for books that bore me or if we are in a hurry/he is using books to stall. Definitely get busted from time to time but enjoying it while I can.

I wish. DD is way too on top of things for that. She has a lot of her books mostly memorized, and she would probably lose it at me if she found out I was skipping pages. It's not worth it.
@MamaChin: Agreed. That book is way too long. I actually learned to read from that book as a kid when my mom refused to read it to me. Now I totally understand why!

Biggest melt down ever if I skip a beat with him! Now he is into spelling alllllllll the words in his books. I adore his interest in reading, but it can get exhausting!

I try, and I even get called out when I skip a SENTANCE, so I stick to the program.

Usually the third time E makes DH read a board book, he doesn't skip but makes up his own lines.

I don't, but my husband does. He paraphrases books. I figure the longer the books, more words, more tired LO gets.

definitely. LO isn't calling us out on that stuff yet, and he's mostly looking at the pictures and not even listening to us anyway so we can skip a lot.
