My name doesn't have a nickname. People try to shorten it and it actually is annoying, because (to me) it sounds stupid.
I have a few people IRL who call me twist.

@.twist.: Can I call you Shazam? It was the first thing that popped into my head when I said your name!

Panda Bear. Or just Panda/Pandy between friends. lol jk. Kind of.
DH came up with that NN for me but he has a whole bag of others for me and they are absolutely insane.

No nickname. My name doesn't really shorten well. People try to but it sounds unauthentic. I love my full name, but I'm glad LO will have a name that gives her a chance to have a nickname.

I've always gone by the shortened version of my name. I always find it weird when someone calls me by my full name.

My close family sometimes shortens my name to Leesh, no idea how it's even spelled, since nobody would ever write, just say it.

My nickname is just a shortened version of my name. Even people I meet for the first time start calling me by the shortened version because that's what everyone else calls me.

People shorten my name all the time and I love it even though i don't feel comfortable introducing myself that way or closing out email that way.
I've had various pet names given by different people and said only by the specific person, but not a universal nickname.

My dad and a few select others shorten my first name. My parents call me Miss Muffet because apparently I used to sit in a little chair and eat Cheerios and reminded them of little miss Muffet sitting on her tuffet.

I primarily go by my nickname and not my full name. My full name is much prettier and feminine sounding but I have gone by my nickname so long that I feel weird introducing myself by my given name.

i use my first and middle given name for my business, but 99% of the time, people call me by my nickname.

@lovehoneybee: hahaha That is a first and that is better than what other people have thought up! Have at 'er!

My name is already considered a nickname, so some very few people will shorten it even further, which annoys me. Only a few people get away with calling me that shortened version.

DH calls me Honey Bunny (because of Pulp Fiction....) and as a kid it was Zippy. My camp name when I was a counselor was Serendipity. haha

DH does the standard ones (honey, babe, etc.)
My name has a shortened version of it (Chris), but no one ever calls me that. I think my name more lends itself to extending it (crystal ball, crystal clear, etc.)
