I have a big floppy hat like this one. I lent it to my mom last summer when she was visiting and she asked "if she was going to embarrass me in it." I just found it cleaning out a closet and now I'm wondering if I should get a different hat. Mine isn't as chic as that one. But I like having something to keep the sun off my face.
Help! Is it really dorky?

I ended up getting one on our honeymoon because I was getting really sunburned. It's a little floppier than the one you posted.
I don't wear it often, just when doing things outdoors like tubing down a river or what not. DH bought it for me so I know he's not embarrassed by it. And we both care more about me not getting burnt than we do about fashion...so...

I have one and think floppy sun hats are adorable! I think they are only embarrassing if they have all kinds of embellishments or funky colors.

I have one...somewhere...but I rarely wear it. DH is always getting on my case to wear it more, and I really ought to. Hopefully I can find it before summer!

No matter what a wide brimmed hat looks better than the often alternative (sunburn). I have one like the one you posted but not quite as wide.

I wear one at the beach. My skin is very fair and I refuse to get sun burns. I think it's smart to wear one.

wear all the hats! i have a few, i love them, but i'm very fair skinned & have a family history of skin cancer so they're also very functional for me & i think they're adorable.

Living in Florida, I have multiple. Some are sporty and some are fashionable, but I almost always have one on if I'm outside for more than a half hour. They are pretty common around these parts.

yes I have two straw ones for the beach (one has a huge bow on it and it's so cute!) and yesterday I just bought a felt one....it's more of a winter or fall accessory.

I think they're chic, but I still don't have one because I don't know how I would keep it on my head while chasing LO'S around or when it's windy.
