DH and I are both 32 so our cut off is probably around 35.

35! We're thinking if we have a girl this time around we'll stop at 2.

Around age 30.
Its not exactly a cut-off, but really when we're likely to be finished having kids. We're 22/23 now (TTC #1) and we want 3 kids spaced about 2 years apart each. Definitely wouldn't be opposed to having kids after 30 if that's the way it happens to work out though.

@chopsuey119: oh wow, that is a change from wanting 3-4! so what if you had a boy next, then tried for another girl but got a boy - would you try AGAIN for another girl?
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@Andrea: If we have a boy next we'll try again. I think we'll stop at 3. I want my body back!

@chopsuey119: seriously!! it is a lot to go through!!

I'd like to be done by 30. Though I wouldn't be opposed to adopting at 30. We shall see!
Edit- We're having our first and I'm 22 so we're on track

Originally we said 33 (for me) but we will have our 2 before my 29th bday so we are way ahead of ourselves. and no... that doesn't mean we have time for a 3rd!

@chopsuey119: The hubs and I also agree that if our #2 is a girl, we'll stop. If #2 is a boy, then we would consider having a third.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
I'd like to be pregnant with our last by the time I am 35, but since that's only 3 years away and we're still TTC for our first, I think I'll re-evaluate at 35.

I used to think it would be 30... But I just turned 28 & we're still trying for our first, so I feel like 35 is a more reasonable cut off if we want 2-3

I have no idea. I would like to try for baby #2 around 24 or 25. If we have a girl, I think we'll stop at 2 kids. If we have another boy, we may try for a third. I think my cut off would be somewhere between 30 and 35.

Depends...if we have 3 kids by the time I"m 35, then that would probably be my cutoff. But if we have trouble conceiving, I could see trying up until I'm 38 or 39.

I feel old now :). I had #1 at 32 and she's only 6 months and I want to have #2 when she's 3...so that means I'll be 35 or 36 (!!!). My husband is 2 years younger than me and if I was younger I think we would try for a third baby but probably will stop at 2. If for some reason I had a hard time getting pregnant I think my cut off would be 38...

40 was my scary age... Now we'd only have another if our birth mom and dad had another together and couldn't keep him/her for some reason

I want to be done by 30. We have time for three or four.
My mom had her last at 39, and it was rough for her by then. I don't want to take on the extra risks for my body or the baby with "advanced" maternal age.

30. I had my first when I was 20, so I really don't want them that spread apart!

35 but it's flexible depending on how things go... We always say we're going to take it one at a time.

I'm 30 and done. I have four kids so I'm definetly done!!

Around 30. I'm 28 and just had DD, and we'll start trying for #2 when she's about a year old. We'll most likely stop after #2.

At this point, it's 30. We had LO at 24 and will likely have the next at 28-ish, if we have another. We will not be having more than 2.

We have two girls and might be done. Very content with them right now Might go for #3, but not past 35

I'd like to be done by 30. I'm 24 now (24.5 when she's born) so if we go with two, we should be good!

This thread is making me feel old.....
I guess 37 if we can squeeze in 2 before then, but the real answer is probably not really. If I can get pregnant in a healthy way, even if it's at 38+, I'd like to try.
I'm 34 and we are ttc with our first, so.. tick tock.
grapefruit / 4800 posts
Not sure about a cutoff. We're going to try to shoot for 3 by the time I'm 33/34 and keep them closer together bc of age but I'm not sure what the cutoff would be.

@JoJoGirl: I got pregnant 2 months before my 34th birthday, so I'm there with you! Also, even though "they" say it takes longer for women in their 30's to conceive, it only took us 2 tries so...good luck and have fun with it!!
I am 34 and due in a month with my first. We don't think we're going to have another. If we did, I would like to be pregnant by 38. Honestly, though, I'm probably done at 34. My body is exhausted.

As of right now, 32. If I have trouble conceiving my second, then I'll push it back to 35.

It's like weddingbee all over again. (In that I'm always surprised by how young people are when they get married and have kids.)
I live in NYC, and I'm the first of my friends to get pregnant and I'm 34. I would say 40 is probably the cut off.
kiwi / 575 posts
Nope - unless I'm in my 40s! We both waited until we were older to get married and so if we want more kids after this little one is born, we'll have to try until we get pregnant again. It took us over a year to get pregnant with this one. I'm 37 this November and would prefer not to have a second right away
pomelo / 5178 posts
I don't have a definite cut off age; DH and I are still pretty young, and we'd like at least one more. Once we have our third, we'll still be plenty young enough to have more, if we want.
