This weekend, I got a call from one friend who lives locally and calls me from time to time to coordinate playdates (he prefers the phone to email and text). And on Friday, I got a call from another friend who lives in California and calls now and then to catch up.
And that's it for impromptu phone calls! Everyone else mostly texts, emails, or chats... and then if we have a lot to talk about, we'll switch over to phone.
Do you have any friends that call you regularly on the phone?

Regularly, no. But I do have one friend who I talk to on the phone more than I text.

I talk to my mom and sister daily. Beyond that, I have two girlfriends that I call to chat with, but not nearly as frequently.

Just one friend that I regularly talk to on the phone. We always have too much to talk about to just text.
There are a couple of relatives too. They just prefer the phone.

Eh, 1 sort of. She will call me a few times/year to catch up. I never call her, which probably makes me a bad friend! I just hate talking on the phone. I prefer to catch up in person when she rolls through town.

I have one that likes to try to call frequently, but I usually respond via text. With the two kids I don't have the luxery to just sit around on the phone, it's too hard to focus and listen when it's not planned out. I think it's hard for her to understand because we are in different life stages.

I always talk on the phone with my two BFFs. And my mom and usually my sister. To me, texting is for coordinating plans and phone is for really catching up (or email I guess but I like the phone)

Yes, my BFF and I call each other regularly since she lives several hours away now, we also email/text frequently. We used to be roommates, so we are used to a LOT of contact with each other.

I have a circle of BFFs that I talk to on the phone every few weeks on rotation to catch up. I usually text everyone on a daily basis, but need the long phone chats with them to catch up about life

Can't remember the last time I talked on the phone just to chat with a friend! I do FaceTime w/ a few friends that don't live locally.

i only talk on the phone with my best friend and only when one of us is on a long drive to the cottage or outta town... that's our talk time. otherwise i bbm/whatsapp/text with everyone except my parents.
