Do you have grey couches/sofas?
We are trying to redecorate and we are a little stumped. We need a darker colored area rug because lighter didn't survive in our house.
If you have grey furniture, what kind of area rug do you have? Bonus points if you'll share photos!

We have a grey couch, but with hard wood, no rug. Its a pretty dark grey and so far its hidden a multitude of sins! We also paid for the hardcore scotchguarding when we bought it, which has been a godsend since my son has had the stomach flu like 10 times this season!

We have a light grey couch, and I'm planning on getting a navy area rug. We currently have a dark brown, burgundy red, and sky blue area rug. It's ok but not my favorite.

Our family room couch is mocha brown. I paired it with this rug that has different shades of gray with the intent a new couch would be a darker gray.

Yes! Gray couch and white rug. I have a shedding dog and a kid.. I mean yes, it's not sparkly white anymore, but I love it! My ottoman hid a lot of that from dirt, and now we have a playmat over it. I honestly love, love, love the white.

We have a dark gray button tufted midcentury style couch with a matching loveseat in blue (same line, different colors). They don't have any pictures online so I can't link it at the moment, but we went with a patterned rug with lots of colors so that while is not a dark rug per se, it hides stains and dirt well.

Our family room couch is PB's "metal gray". Our rug is jute so it's on the lighter side, but it's super forgiving. We've had it for a few years with toddlers and no problems. Plus it was cheap, so it's not as big of a deal if they do make a mess of it.

Our rug is navy and cream. You don't see anything on it cause of the pattern, which is so awesome. We got ours from Overstock

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Super pretty! We had a rug with lighter areas like that and it got so grimy.

@JennyPenny: See, I really like the navy and grey! Our rug that had a lot of white like that pattern got so destroyed so I can't sell DH on a design like that again, but I super love it.

Our rug is navy blue with white dots and we accent the gray couch with shades of yellow and blue in the pillows. I don't have a clear shot but you can see them here!

@Boogs: it's not rough at all! I was worried it might be and originally had bought a smaller rug to be layered over it in case. No need. a few people have commented that it was softer than they expected when they visited.

One couch is a light gray linen blend fabric. Looking back, I wish I had gone in a different direction because gray is starting to feel dated to me.

Not quite gray, but our furniture is microfiber beige so functions kind of visually similar to a light gray, and it works well with a blue patterned Pottery Barn rug we got on ebay years ago. It's called the Adeline rug, in blue.

@Meow: Thanks! It is super comfy!! It's from Macy's. The Driscoll line I think. We had been *this* close to getting an Axis II from C&B when we discovered it. DH and I thought "wow, this looks/feels a lot like the Axis II" We checked and they have the exact same dimensions and it's the same manufacturer. The only difference really is the fabric options - oh, and savings of several thousand $$.

@nana87: We have the same entertainment setup but ours is the black-brown color.
We are purchasing a grey couch soon. I want something that hides spills. Our carpets are cream (ick) but hopefully we will get laminate/hardwood next year.

We have dark gray velvet chairs and a matching ottoman in our room, and have a white sheepskin rug underneath, over our hardwood floors. For reference, 3 walls are white and one is black, and our bedding is all white.

We have a grey couch and this rug. We love it! This beige hides everything. we do have a no shoes rule on this rug since we have a crawler but it hides spills, spit up, and every thing else that comes with kids. The rug itself is a great quality especially for the price. It is thick and does't shed. It got great reviews on amazon which is why we went for it.

@Boogs: I'm sooooo happy you started this thread. We have a room and board dark grey sectional and hardwood floors. I have been hemming and hawing about getting a rug. We need one as the living room is also our 10 mo's play space. I'd love a safavieh ivory or beige shag rug but this space is also the path to our outdoor space. Eeeek

You can see a little bit of our area rug in this photo. We tried to get one that was more neutral so it blended well with everything in the room.
