I don't. It stresses me out...way too many people and I don't know if they're all like this but the one by our house always seems so cluttered. I much prefer Target, especially because ours has a Starbucks

Maybe a handful of times a year. The stores itself are huge and we have 4 of them in a five mile radius. I just hate the lines.

We do! There are about 50 million Wal-Marts around here and only one target within an hour radius..sooo we go to Wal-Mart often. Target is nicer, but more expensive and further away.

Yes
Canned goods and yogurt are so cheap there!!! I also buy my allergy meds there-

On very rare occasions. I'm just as close to Target so I'm more likely to head there over Walmart.

Yep, all the time. Great prices, plus our Walmart is in a more convenient location than our Target, so it's just easier to swing by there and get what I need than drive across town to Target.

I went a couple times this year to get R this chair for the deck that she liked at my parent's house. I also bought some clothes for day care. Not worth it. Too small and quality is horrible.
But otherwise I avoid it possible, too busy and dirty.

OK. I had to vote "hells yes" but that's not how I feel about it.
It's more of a "ugh. yes." It's so much cheaper and saves a ton on groceries. It also has much better produce than the store closer to us so that is also a draw. I am not happy about it. *hmph*

very, very rarely. i make an effort to avoid it, but there have been occasions where we've been camping and it's the only store around or i'm in the area and don't have time to go elsewhere for something i need right then. this happens maybe 2-3 times a year??

I don't very often, but will if I absolutely have to. I prefer Target, definitely!

No, there isn't a Walmart that's close by. I LOVE Target! I go once a week. Sometimes more!

No! I have 2 under 2 and it's a nightmare being in a walmart with no kids. I haven't been since before DS was born almost 2 years ago! I go to target for non grocery items. Our grocery store sackers take your items to your car, unload them and take the cart back. So much easier with the littles!

No. I get anxiety just pulling in the parking lot. The one near us is old, run down, and a complete clusterf*ck.
If it was a nicer one I wouldn't have any problem going there.

Not often. The Walmart closest to us is a shithole and is in the same shopping center as Target, so I always go to Target. The Walmart near my parents is really nice though. They have a full grocery and the place is always immaculate. I'd go more if ours was that nice.

There is no Wal-Mart in NYC. There is a Target close by, but I only go when necessary.

@MamaMoose: Right??
@.twist.: That's surprising. We have 2 Walmarts near us and the produce dept sucks at both.

I voted no but not really like no way I'd wanna ship there... Just that none is ever really around me, plus I prefer Target.
nectarine / 2053 posts
Yep, it's way closer to me than target. Plus, it's way cheaper than target.

@Littlebit: same here. I don't go because it's dirty and crowded and full of people yelling.
It stresses me out more than the deals are worth.

Once in a while. The layout makes it unfriendly to navigate but it's easier to get to since it's about a minute or two from our house, so we go for late night emergencies.

@.twist.: There is a nice Walmart grocery store near LO's Dr....I always stop for produce when she has an appointment.

Went to Walmart twice in my life for big ticket items, (TV and patio furniture.). What a nightmare. Never again.

@lawbee11: Yea, I am honestly surprised by it too. Although, our produce/grocery side of walmart is still fairly new, so maybe that's why?
I wish our target had produce. They have limited dry/frozen goods and it sucks because I much prefer them. It's like... half a grocery store, which seems so pointless to me!
pomegranate / 3980 posts
I certainly do but the ones in my area are actually not bad. I went to one across the state line and I can certainly understand why others avoid it at all cost!

I do. They have pretty much everything there. There is nothing wrong with them in my area. They're pretty much exactly like Target.
honeydew / 7589 posts
I absolutely hate it and feel bad about it, but yes. We have no super target (just the non-grocery version) within an hour and a half.
Our only other option is Publix, which is VERY expensive in comparison. We do get our produce there, but for basics we end up going to Walmart.
I wish they would open a super target - I'd never go to Walmart again!
watermelon / 14206 posts
Yep. Not all the time, but I live out in a rural area, and Walmart is the only department store nearby. Everything else takes at least 30 min to get there. I go to a local grocer for my regular weekly groceries, though.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
I try not to because I really don't support their business practices.
I have gone there occasionally since DD was born because there's a 24-hour one really close to our house so if I am in dire need of something (e.g. diapers) and don't have time to go elsewhere I'll go to Walmart. But I'm not proud of that fact.

Yes for certain things...Pharmacy, hygiene/ toiletries, Tuna snacks, Whole cashews (large container), laundry detergent, and paper goods. I visit the store maybe once a month.
