I much prefer to shop in person. I think if I was just buying pre-packaged foods I'd be able to but I really like to touch and feel my own produce.

Oh me too! When LO was a baby I couldn't bring myself to do a full food shop with her so I ordered everything online, but I much prefer doing it in person now

I was tempted to, but DH likes different things from different stores, and we actually shop mostly from Trader Joe so can't online that! Plus all our stores are less than a 5 min drive and we like taking LO!

I sometimes order from Relay Foods, a local online grocery service. They stock really nice local ingredients, so I trust them to pick out my produce. I only order meats and veggies from them, though because their packages foods are too pricey!

I order almost weekly from a local family owned grocery chain. It is a HUGE life saver. It's basically like a Wegmans so I can trust their meat and produce quality. Fruits I usually stick to items like bananas, pears, grapes etc. I can even indicate in the comments the ripeness so I usually go for non ripen and let it ripen on the counter at home. If it we any other grocery store I wouldn't trust the quality as much. I've been able to find either a discounted or free delivery coupon every time so I've only paid it a handful of times. But it is such a time saver!!!! We both WOH and don't get home till 15m before dinner time. The $5 delivery fee is well worth an hours time on the weekend!
It's nice that it's a local store because then I can browse their ads and see what's on sale, etc.

I do sometimes because M is GF so bisquick mix, lasagna sheets and other hard to find GF items I get on Amazon. I've bought a few baby food items online too. But I would not do a full delivery service unless I was really sick or home with a newborn and toddler. I also love grocery shopping.

I order staples and meat online then hit the farmers market weekly for produce. Not having to drag two kids to the supermarket is worth it to me.

I actually just did this for the first time today! I have no idea if I will be happy with the produce they choose but I just didn't have the energy to go yesterday and I'm working today, so it wasn't happening otherwise. I also had a coupon for $20 off $100 so it seemed worth it

We mostly order online since we're in NYC--groceries get really heavy, especially boxed/packaged food! Plus it's cheaper for some things.

I prefer the store because I purchase fresh produce. We also like to visit the local farmer's market.

I've never even considered ordering groceries online. I enjoy going to the grocery!

I do online grocery shopping 80% of the time. I have never had a problem with the produce not being to my liking, but that was my #1 concern when I started online shopping.

I do online shopping for the majority of the month. I love it and well worth the $6.95 delivery fee. If I don't like the produce (if it's not a good quality) or any product that came, I can call them and get it credited.
I actually did my weekly food shopping in the store today and hated every second of it.

I tried it but I don't like it. The prices are definitely higher (although it's easier to stick to your list.) I did happen to get good produce, but they gave me organic milk that was set to expire within a week or two..which I don't think has ever happened in store since organic milk usually has a long shelf life. I don't mind grocery shopping in store anyway, but that could change when lo2 gets here!

Now I like taking the kids to the store, but when I was in an apartment with a preemie on a heart monitor online shopping and delivery was awesome. They would often carry the bags all the way into my kitchen!

Yep, online. I do Amazon Fresh and occasionally FreshDirect. We use our local deli for additional items. Saves a lot of time and I've found some good deals. I don't care about touching produce!

I was just talking about this with my husband this morning (we were driving behind a Peapod truck). I have a hard time imagining liking this, given the way I shop (hitting lots of different stores, not using a list, relying on Trader Joe's and the farmers' market for many things), but I am definitely keeping it in mind for the first weeks after LO arrives!

I absolutely loathe grocery shopping because I get overwhelmed by all of the choices and I have a very limited diet. I hate shopping in general, so it is not just for groceries. So I use prime pantry and subscribe and save from Amazon as much as possible. When I lived in England, I did 80% of my grocery shopping online.

I really like grocery shopping, but I've done it online a couple of times. Once when the weather was bad and I would have been bringing a baby with (though I felt so bad for the delivery person) and another time when S was sick.

We subscribe to a CSA for produce but I don't know of a quality grocery in our area for delivery groceries. Mostly we buy dairy and meat at the grocery store.

@Chuckles: I am going to freaking love my delivery even more when it's -10 windchill out with a foot of snow.

I really like grocery shopping so I have not even looked into online options.

I did when LO was a brand new newborn. I loved it as you could choose day and time of delivery, and they would bring it right through to the kitchen! But stopped doing it as I wasn't overly happy with fresh produce selection. Even though they would replace without question, it was just easier for me to do it myself. BY then I was happy to get out of he house!

I do quite like shopping in the store but I buy 95% online as we live up 4 flights of stairs and It would be a nightmare to get all my bags upstairs, plus LO, plus pushchair. That's even if I could get them all home without a car in the first place! I've never had a problem with produce not being good, and if I did you can reject things at the door and get a refund.
