We are going on a trip this weekend, just a few hours away. I get easily car sick so I never sit in the back with them. Luckily my niece who is 8 will be riding with us and she can help me entertain them. But on the way back we are on our own!
Do you sit in the back seat with your kids on longer trips?

We have traveled 4 hrs longest with DD I will try not to, but will jump back kif need be!
She is a pretty good traveler!

E actually does much better when I am in the front. When he sees me he wants to be picked up and held, so he cries and tries to get out of his seat (he is 8mo so I dont know if this will change once he starts to really understand the idea of a car seat). he is fine and happy if I am driving or in the passenger seat.

We don't use our car that often since we're in a city but when we do lo says "no mama sit in the front seat", she demands I sit with her!

Our son is a great long distance traveler, but our daughter needs entertainment. Since shes only 5 months, that ends up being me. I get car sick too, so I only go back there for rides longer than 3-4 hours.

Not usually- I ised to more when our first was a baby, she was much worse in the car plus there was only one car seat back there. Even then it was usually Only when she was totally losing it on a long trip.
Now with two car seats it's so uncomfortable! The baby was losing it as we sat in stop and go traffic for two hours (after already driving four hours) last month so I crawled back there. Very unpleasant.

Never! We do a 3hour each way car trip monthly and neither of us have ever sat in the back! The kids learn how to entertain themselves in the car (they are 4 years and 18 months old)

No, both LOs lost their minds as babies if I sat in the back seat with them. We just pretend I'm not in the car. I sit in the front and don't speak if I want a quiet ride. Definitely no car seats on planes for us.

If I am not driving I sit in the back. Maybe we should stop doing that. He's just always been so so terrible in the car.

If she gets fussy one of us will jump in the back and keep her company for a while, but otherwise no.

On long car rides (we've done 8 hours and 10 hours) I rode back there for part of the time when we only had one kiddo. The headset on the passenger seat in our Jeep is adjustable and actually comes off, so I take it off so I can see out the windshield- helps with motion sickness.

When we have long car trips I'll sit in the back for a little bit as a treat and play with her. Our cottage is 8 hours away so I don't mind helping to entertain or read her a few stories for a little bit. When she was little I'd also sit in the back if I didn't want her to fall asleep quite yet. Generally though, I sit with DH up front and she does a good job entertaining herself.

I don't sit in the back because she just seems to get annoyed that I won't/can't pick her up. Our car trip seem to go much better if I sit in the front seat

FTP-one of us always sits in the back. In my car it's actually more comfortabke than sitting in the front since the car seat takes up so much room behind the passenger seat.

I sit in the front except when things get crazy then I'll maybe sit in the back between the two for a while. They are really good carriders though.

Haha, I always sit in the back...my son is 5.5 years old! Sometimes my husband and I will go somewhere alone and I'll just get in the back seat, habit, I guess.
On long trips I prefer to be in the back, my son's gotten carsick and it's just easier for me to deal with him when I don't have to reach back.

I'm always up front because the middle seat is too tight to fit me in our small sedan. We've gone on 14+ hour road trips before, and while it wasn't easy, I'm glad I was up front.

We just did a 5 hour trip each way and I ended up climbing back there for the last hour each way ......... which was pretty good for our 7 month old DS I thought!

I do because, lately, MIL comes with us on trips and I give her the front passenger seat so I can squeeze between the babies.
I do get car sick but since i'm sitting in the middle seat, I have view of the road and that usually helps prevent me from getting sick.

Nope. I sometimes sat back there when she was an infant to feed her, but I don't take trips back there.
