Do you use any products in your kiddos' hair, or use a blow dryer or other tools?

Lo1 has pretty wild, wavy hair that is still kind of uneven in the front (she's had a few haircuts but her bangs are still growing out). I try to at least brush it and use de-tangler, and then either pull the bangs out of her eyes with a clip or put it up, but she doesn't always let me. When we were visiting my mil recently, mil got into the habit of blow-drying lo1's hair after her bath, mostly because it was really cold out and we didn't want her hair to be wet when we went outside. But, it also looked WAY better and more tamed! I feel a bit torn though, because even though it looked less crazy, I worry that the heat will be bad for her hair in the long run, and I also don't want lo to feel she HAS to have it styled/not just natural. I also have really different hair than her, which complicates things--mine is super curly and I put in products but just let it air-dry. But I also feel like my parents didn't know how to do my hair when I was a kid (they brushed my curly hair-horror of horrors! haha) and I don't want it to look like a hot mess just because I don't know how to manage it.

Eta pic to show you what I’m working with!! It’s partially braided back here but she wouldn’t let me fix it so that the front part was out of her eyes...
