We are about to become homeowners and its so exciting! we are shopping for basically everything, big things like appliances but also small things like address labels. I can decide whether its time to ditch the labels and get a stamp instead? I think I prefer the look of labels though. I never got a stamp in the past because we were always renting. What do you have and why?

We got a self-inking stamp when we bought our first house after years of renting and I love it! I guess it was sort of a splurge but it makes me so happy to send mail. We bought ours from the StampOut Etsy shop.

I think stamps are cool, lots of fun designs. But, we use stickers bc they're so easy! If you do go with labels, I'd recommend not using Vista Print. They look cheap imo

I have so many labels and I don't mail a lot so I'll be using them for a long while.

We use labels because I like having options. DH, DD, and I each have individual labels. Then DH and I have one with just our names on it. And finally we have a family one.

Labels. I think we might have a stamp somewhere, but we get a ton of labels in the mail for free and we use those, mostly on the bills that we pay by check.
For holiday cards, we usually get special seasonal ones with our card order.

I love the stamp. It's so helpful when I'm sending out Christmas cards as I can easily run the assembly line and stamp them all.

Labels. I got the stamp once and won't get it again.
I got the self inking one and you have to make sure you are putting enough pressure across the whole stamp or you'll get blank spots. Maybe I was a little type A but I just couldn't use an envelope with the stamp not fully legible (especially the address area,the name area is not so important if they can make out some of it).
I mainly used the stamp for Christmas cards so it was annoying to waste the envelopes where it didn't print all the way. Luckily, I got extra envelopes with my cards so I didn't have to worry about running out.
The idea of having a keepsake for each house we were in was nice initially but practicality wise, it wasn't.
Labels are easier, IMO.
Oh, also, I can take a few labels and keep it where I keep stamps (like some in my wallet). My stamp was always at home.

I use my stamp on announcements and things like christmas cards--mass mailings. Everything else I just write our address.

I have a ton of free labels that charities and organizations send (most I don't give to on a regular basis either) so I just use those. Not the most beautiful, but I don't send out that much mail.

a stamp. the best part about the stamps is I can switch out the ink pad for a holiday color (they make red/green stamp pads) and then switch it back to black when I'm finished with our holiday cards.

We have a self-inking stamp; yes you have to be careful about making sure you do it right so it's not too light.
I'll use the freebies you get in the mail for random occasions if I am sending to a company or something.

@littlebug: Same here! Label user from whatever charity we've donated to and are soliciting us. I'll get fancy labels at Christmas time, but I have the same type A issue as @bluestriped bee. It would bother me if there were white spots where it should be stamping.

I love our stamp, use it for actual mail (thank you cards, holiday cards, personal notes). I donated to March of Dimes and got their labels as a thank you, I use those for bills.

We use labels because we move every 2/3 years. I'd love to use a stamp and will once hubby retires and we stay in one spot.

We have been stamping for 8 years now!! Love it. Same stamp too.

We have so many labels from different charities, so we use those. Plus, we don't send mail too often. Only for Christmas cards, and then we order special labels at that time. I'm thinking of getting a stamp though.

@bluestriped bee: haha yes I am like that if the stamp doesnt print out right!@winter_wonder: haha I have used the vistaprint in the past and I know what you mean, they are ok but not the highest quality. I think this time I will go with Minted.

we use labels, mostly the free ones that come in the mail constantly but I've always wanted a stamp! They look so cute and practical.

Stamp -- when we moved to our new house we got one. I love it. I don't have any labels with our current address or I would use those up first!

I didn't vote because I don't have either yet but I want a stamp! I find labels annoying. I don't really know anyone who actually uses a stamp though, everyone seems to use labels.
Right now I am that dummy that writes it out over and over!!
