I (typically) don't, but DS has had a head cold the last few days and I woke up with a scratchy throat and am a lil congested this morning... downing fluids as fast as I can...!

Gah, yes. As soon as someone had a runny nose, I get it. Maybe I shouldn't smooch them as much when they are sick.

I would say 85% of the time I get them.
And, if there's a stomach virus in the house, I will get it. Maybe not as intense as the original patient, but I'll get it!
I'm terrified of the Kindergarten germs that will start in the fall!

@lamariniere: haha! That's harder than NOT getting sick!!
I do, but not always to the full extent. Sucks!

Always. Probably because she is obsessed with using my water bottle even though she has almost the exact same one.

Typically, no, even though I am constantly being covered in baby slobber and whatever else. DH though gets them every single time. And every single time, it is man flu, like a serious case of it

Nope but DH *always* does and he usually gets it worse. Poor guy!

All the time with LO 1 the first year but not so much anymore.

Almost always! It sucks. Not looking forward to him starting school in a few months!

My immune system is toughing up quite a bit. The year before I had LO1 I had a volunteer job with babies and toddlers, just 3 hours a week and I got sick every week even though I washed my hands religiously and obviously wasn't kissing the kids. They were kids in really unfortunate situations and it was different kids every day so I think they tended to be sicker than your average kids. I missed work at least once a month so I had to quit (especially since it wasn't good to be so sick while pregnant).
LO1's first year of daycare was pretty bad too. Now the duration of the colds I get is pretty much down to 24 hours regardless of how long it takes LO to deal fight it. I just feel crummy for 8 hours or so, have a runny nose for 8 hours or so, and cough for a day. No biggie. Except whatever I got recently that lasted 2 months. That sucked.

Oh no, I hope you feel better ASAP! You're probably more prone to catching it too bc you're pregnant vs if you weren't.
I used to catch it more when they were younger, but not anymore!

Not usually. Well, sometimes I can tell that I'm fighting something off (I'll be tired and thirsty).
In early Spring I caught two bad colds from him in a row. It was awful - he was sick but still full of energy and I just wanted to rest.

Maybe 25% of the time. It used to be much more often but this past year i didn't get sick as much.

Sometimes. If I have to use the NoseFrida, it's guaranteed I'll catch whatever she has at twice the intensity. I hate that thing...I don't care what they say, it doesn't trap any germs. Otherwise, there's a 50-50 chance of either me or DH (or both) getting sick.

@mrsjyw: start taking Zicam now! That's the only thing that saves me when I'm catching a cold. It's just Zinc and it's homeopathic, but it really kill the cold if you take it as soon as you ferl symptoms. I hope you feel bette

90% of the time, I pick up whatever DS has brought home. DH on the other hand is apparently immune to everything!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
Usually but I don't think I get it as bad. I don't mind colds so much though. Mostly just annoying.
