I wash my hands so many times a day, it's a miracle that they're not giant prunes at this point! I used to not be as diligent but I was getting sick all the time after the kids started daycare, so I changed my ways. Well also, all those diaper changes made me paranoid!
Do you wash your hands an obscene number of times a day? Do you wash them more since becoming a parent?

I don't know about obscene. I know I said I wash them enough for them to fall off, but I was being totally dramatic. lol.
I wash them if I've been on the train, used the bathroom, coughed on them or sneezed...
During the day I'm at work so I don't *feel* like they get as germy. I find I wash them a lot more when I'm at home, diaper changes, wiping up snot on L's face, food, drool, dogs, cats. lol... my house is a big cesspool I'm sure.

@.twist.: I read once that keyboards and phones are teeming with germs from our fingers, and now my seemingly germ-free work experience has been ruined forever!

@mrbee: I know! They are so gross. I JUST got a new keyboard and mouse, so I feel like they're still... fresh. But, my phone is probably disgusting and I just try to avoid using it ever. hah.

When I walk into the house, the first thing I do is remove my shoes (who knows what nastiness they would drag in from the street) then I wash my hands. It’s my attempt to keep the germs out of my house. Oh and I often wipe down the dog’s paws when we come inside.

Yes. I thought I used to do this, and then when my SIL was diagnosed with cancer and we all had to be so careful around her, my awareness increased tenfold. I even keep little Wet Ones disinfecting wipes at my desk!

I wash mine/use hand sanitizer more during the day at work than I do at home. I just don't trust people in this office are clean

Yup, I'm a nurse. On days that I work I easily wash my hands >20 times and sanitize them an additional 30+ times.

Constantly, and I have hand sanitizer on my desk I pull out when I hear someone sneeze/cough/ect. I'm doing my best to stay healthy.

Yes! Especially now that it's cold and flu season. LO and I wash our hands constantly. I think I'm going to buy am extra tub of CeraVe cream for the downstairs bathroom.

Yes! I'm doing two kids' diaper changes the whole day so I wash my hands a ton. They get sooo dried out this time of year.

Only in work. Outside of work I wash them after the toilet and that is it. I don't think it is healthy to over clean everything!

Not obscene but maybe I've just gotten used to it from having kids…definitely a lot though.
