A friend of mine's second grader has job sharing teachers that split the week and alternate Wednesdays. I imagine this is more common now, do any of your elementary school aged kids have job sharing teachers? How is it going?

Mine has one teacher that is there solo on Fridays and the rest of the days pops in to help the main teacher. It's going okay, just note sure if their teaching styles are the same.

I would love to know, since my husband and I would consider job sharing We are certified in the same areas.

@autumnlove: When I was a school nurse a couple of years ago, two teachers shared my kiddo's class (I was a nurse to a specific kid so I had a relationship with the class). They were such awesome teachers. I would have LOVED my kid to be in this class. They seemed to communicate very well and were perhaps even friends, so it worked great!

@autumnlove: I am a teacher who has job shared (50%) and did exactly what @Boogs: said. It was a first grade class. And my partner teacher taught Mon & tues, and I taught Thursday's and fri. And on wednesdays we alternate because Wednesday's were shortened days for staff meetings. We also lesson planned with other grade level teachers on wednesdays and every Friday we would talk on the phone to fill each other in on how the week went and what we were planning for the coming week. We also talked on other days as needed. At that school there were a few teachers who job shared, the principal was very supportive of it for working moms, and there were no concerns that we heard of from parents. My partner teacher returned full time when her son went to pre school and I had the lowest seniority at the school so I had to move to another school. Currently I am teaching 80% but since it's middle school, I don't need to "share" it with anyone, I'm just assigned one fewer period that I teach. It works out for me because I go home at 1:00 to my two kiddos.
