One took to it naturally, and the other didn't! Working on reading the same books over and over with our youngest, to encourage her recall... it makes it more fun to read when she can finish the sentences!

Yes, she memorizes everything so quickly. Right now, she loves to recite The Hungry Little Catepillar

My oldest does. My youngest sometimes repeats after me. I'm SO glad both of my boys loves books. They were reading during breakfast but I had to, unfortunately, put a stop to it b/c the pages were getting all stuck together... and probably from milk.

Yes, but that's probably because we read the same books to her over and over again. She hasn't memorized any book in its entirety but i find that if I pause mid sentence she will finish it for me. I remember being amazed the first time she did it!

I feel like it's kind of automatic, especially for the rhyming ones. I don't think my son makes a specific effort to memorize, but he has memorized several books at this point.

One, but I think only because it's also a song (5 Little Monkeys). She does often "read" her books to us, and tell us the gist of the stories in her own words.
