Just curious...I've been wearing one pieces and tankinis all summer. Maybe I should wear a bikini next time and expose my belly stretchmarks to a little sun?

If it's a real tan, no. If it's a spray tan, yes. Trust me, I've personally experimented

I agree with @CupQuakeWalk, a spray tan covers them up....a real tan does not tan the marks and they end up more noticeable!

A real tan can actually make the marks worse and not heal!

@CupQuakeWalk: @LuLu Mom: Good to know, did you go to a salon or spray yourself?

@autumnlove: I'm spoiled and my best friend bought a professional machine and sprays her friends for $10 a time Same stuff the place I used to go and they charged almost $40.

I don't think so, but I tell myself that having a tan minimizes my cellulite. Wishful thinking?

Just the opposite. A tan will make the stretch marks more noticeable. Try Weleda Stretch Mark Oil to diminish the appearance of stretch marks.

I JUST discovered this! I have some stretch marks on the tops of my legs and recently got a sunburn that turned into a tan. The stretch marks are SO obvious now! Definitely avoid the sun!

But I think a tan in general makes everything look better.

Okay so I can have better looking abs due to the tan, but worse stretch marks, or not great looking abs and less visible stretch marks, heh.

huh... I never knew this! I seriously thought a tan would help!

@autumnlove: I do both; depends on my budget. I do touch ups and in-between a with spray at home. When I was hosting a friend's bridal shower or when we went on vacation, I went to the salon and got sprayed.
For stretchmarks: try a dermaroller. I've never tried it on s/m myself, but I did it on my face for bad acne scars and it worked.
