Parents are supposed to apply sunscreen before daycare in the morning and the teachers reapply before lunchtime.

I'm in NJ but they do daily in the summer. My kids are extremely fair skinned and I think both of them got sunburned in March last year!

Daycare applied it for us before they went out each time. I'm kind of crazy when it comes to sunscreen though. I would think you could get your pediatrician to send in a form by merely sending it to them and asking them to email it back.

We apply before school, and school reapplies as needed. We also needed a form from the ped.

Yes. We put it on in the morning and then they reapply in the afternoon.

I can't believe you need a doctors note. That is crazy. Every kid should wear it. Especially in FL.

@MrsADS: Yes they do, twice a day from maybe March - October.

Yes they put sunscreen on them, I think at the same time as changing diapers

Yes, teachers apply before each outside playtime. We have to sign a permission form. That's ridiculous a doctor's note is required.

@Smurfette: We didn't need a doctor's note, but I did have to sign a note saying I'd given permission for teachers to apply sunscreen to a scar on DD1's face before she went outside in Pre-K.

For our school, parents were expected to put on sunscreen before school in the AM; kids who stayed all day could get a re-application at lunchtime at the parents' request.

From April/May through September ours puts it all the kids (same brand) after filling out a form. We try to apply it in the morning and then they do s reapplication in the afternoon. I can't imagine not wanting my kid to have sunscreen ! Childhood burns are one of the biggest risk factors for skin cancer.
