Have a nanny watching my 8m old at home with I WAH. Do I select meals for her to give him? Just let her know the range of foods he can eat and she chooses? He eats real food, no more purees.
Thanks!

Our nanny loves to cook, so she gives us a short grocery list every week of things she'd like for LO (usually 2 types of protein, veggies and rice or quinoa or pasta ) and then she makes her lunch every day. I think when we first started, LO was 10 months old, so we gave her ideas on what she liked and then she ran with it. It's worked out great for us!

I asked my sister she nannies a 2 yr old and 10 month ols, she days the lunch is based on what they want and she knows what she can give each kiddo!
Mom told her what they usually have and over time she can now just make it on her own

It was always up to me as a nanny. I just knew what to choose from, and they let me know if there was something specific they wanted her to have.

I WAH. Our nanny knows what we normally feed LOs. Sometimes I have something specific in mind (like leftovers) or something to avoid (mac and cheese if we're having pasta for dinner) and those times I just let her know what lunch needs to be.

I had everything prepared for LO other than heating up. But I think it just depends on the situation agreed upon.

My nanny did it all, even bought groceries, I just reimbursed. Saved me a ton of time and stress. She wrote down everything he ate so I would know and have different foods for dinner...

Our nanny gives DS leftovers from the food we cooked the night before or makes him food from our freezer - we always have frozen vegetables (including vegetables she has prepared, like frozen beets, cubes of butternut squash, etc.), frozen chicken/turkey/lamb cubes, pasta sauce we freeze in cubes. And she makes things like chicken soup that she'll freeze. She makes pasta, cous cous and other grains that she serves the frozen stuff with.

I always had things prepped or atleast told the nanny want I wanted her to eat. Granted, she was only PT and LO starts daycare in a few weeks at 11 mo!

Our nanny does all the grocery ordering (we order online), meal planning, and prep for our son.

Our nanny just knows what dd1 eats and serves it up. If I'm paying $14 an hour, I'll leave the exhausting conversation about what dd1 *might* consider acceptable to her!

Thanks everyone! I think I'll just give her some ideas and let her run with it...
@PrincessBaby: Ha, yes. But that's for a toddler....this is for a baby? WWYD then?

@Mrs Green Grass: @raintreebee: that's awesome! I don't think she'll be shopping for me...but that sounds awesome!

As a nanny I usually chose what to feed the tots...sometimes I was told something specific and I was usually given guidelines (cause that's just what mom's do lol) but I usually chose. I'd say, so what feels right!

@winniebee: We are just a few weeks away from introducing solids and I'll do the same- just Have a variety and let the nanny select.
Our nanny has whipped dd2 into a schedule I can be proud of, so I totally trust her to do things like pick out a meal.

When I was a nanny, they usually gave me some ideas. If they forgot or didn't think of it, it was no big deal because she trusted me to make whatever. It worked well.
