DD is starting daycare next week and I need to get a duplicate lovey! Except hers is from PBK and will take a while to ship. I'm wonder if I get a similar one from Amazon, if she'll care... She does use it to help herself fall asleep mainly by pulling my the ears so I'm wonder if if it would work if I just get one that has long ears too.

DD used to take any blankey, we have about 6 soft/fuzzy ones, she always had a favorite that we kept at home for bedtime but recently she's insisted on taking it to daycare.... soo looks like we're down to one main lovey
And its "yellow"... not so much anymore -
My daughter is going to be 10 months on Friday and I think she will take multiple similar ones. I think if you sleep with the one that you'll send to daycare so it smells like you, your baby will be fine!

my daughter is almost 3, and until recently she used to take any lovey that looked like hers. but this last time i bought new ones she definitely doesn't like them as much as her old ones.
i'm hoping she just gradually breaks them in and gets used to them bc the old ones are getting ratty!

@Ajsmommy: Hah so they do have favorites! Maybe I should def just order the same one for down the road too...
@MRSJX3: I'm planning to send her with the one she has now and take it back home, but also start to use the new one and see if she's ok with it too~

We rotate out a few of the exact same one. I try to make sure they get equal wear and tear so they are indistinguishable

DD has two separate stuffed animal (penguin and dog) and at this point she doesn't seem to mind if she only has one over the other (while I wash one or whatever). In a pinch she will cuddle with any stuffed animal. I'm hoping she never becomes so particular that we have to get back ups of the dog and penguin!

DS took to the A&A security blankets as his lovey so we bought 4 different packs of them. They are different prints but always the same blue satin around the edge. He takes an A&A swaddle blanket to school and doesn't care which one it is either. I hope DS2 is as easy going too!

DD1 is super attached to her lovey (one of those Carter's little blankets with the stuffed animal head) and she can pick hers out of a pile of identical loveys with no trouble. When she was about a year and a half, we tried to introduce a couple more monkeys so we'd always have one, but she immediately tossed the new ones aside and clung to her original monkey whilst looking at us as though we were absolute imbeciles. There is only one lovey for her, always and forever!

DS has a bear. Of course, they don't make the bear he has anymore. Luckily, we found a duplicate on eBay, so he has a back up.

We have 4 of the same lovey just in case lol. She has favorite blankets, too but just the type (kinky) she isn't picky about the pattern thankfully because I never can find duplicates of the ones she has.
