I currently feed my LO pumped frozen breastmilk at home but she gets formula bottles at daycare and when we are out and about.
Does anyone have the Dr. Brown's Formula pitcher? Yay or nay? I currently make 3 batches of 6oz formula bottles and shake them up before I pour them into her daycare bottles...

I bought this pitcher but ended up returning it because I never make more than 4oz of formula a day. So it wasnt really worth using it for me
But in your case where you are making 18oz of formula it would save you having to shake all 3 bottles separately

It was a yay for our formula fed baby. We'd make 20 oz at once and not have to worry about it for the rest of the day.

@autumnlove: yeah I had that problem too thats why I bought the pitcher, but I ended up switching bottles becausethe drop in liners were getting too confusing for me

I thought I wanted one, but we didn't get it (LO is formula fed and 4.5 months old). We just make up the bottles at the start of the day and put them in the fridge. That way, we're ready to go when she's hungry and don't need to worry about washing yet another baby-feeding item.
We did get a segmented formula holder for on-the-go. We put her scoops of formula in each segment, fill bottles up with water and hit the road without having to worry about keeping the bottles chilled. Then, when it's food time, we add the formula to the water, shake and it's meal time!

omg this pitcher changed my life!! I know shaking a bottle doesn't seem like much work but the pitcher makes it SO EASY. measure out formula for the entire day, fill with water, pull plunger up and down literally only like 4-5 times, and voila, enough formula for the whole day in the fridge. I can't wait to use it again, which sounds funny since it means going from 100% breastmilk to formula after I wean LMW!

I used this for formula fed DD. it was awesome, made life so much easier. However, the plunger thing on the bottom kept falling off when I would mix. Hopefully they have fixed that issue by now.

I make batches of formula in the Blender Bottles that people use for protein shakes. They hold up to 24 oz and I got mine for less than $10 at GNC. I also measure out the formula powder into Ziploc bags so I can make the process quicker :).

We used it when we switched to the Kirkland brand formula, it was recommended since that formula is so bubbly. I loved it, then when she outgrew spitting up, I quit using it. I never did make big batches, I'd use it one bottle at a time. I hated heating up formula.

When she was younger she'd spit up horribly with cold formula, she's ok with it now! Otherwise we would've been cruel too

Bumping this thread. Ds just started daycare and wondering people's thoughts on the pitcher. I keep reading that it is great bc no shaking = less bubbles. This may be a dumb question, but the formula doesn't settle as the day goes on? I want to make the pitcher to pour into bottles for daycare, but will they just have to shake all of the bottles before they serve them anyway since it will be later in the day?
Any advice is appreciated!

Love this pitcher. I normally give the bottle a swirl before/after heating it. I don't shake.

@bloved: No the formula doesn't settle. To me this is a must have if you WOH and send pre-filled bottles. So much faster to measure everything once.

@bloved: As long as you mix it well, it won't settle. I make a batch and I like it to sit for a few minutes for any powder clumps to dissolve. Right before I pour into the bottles, I do a quick mix.

No shaking required after its mixed. The pitcher made it easy for us to make batches for daycare.
