We are planning on using a dresser as a changing table in the nursery and I'm wondering if anyone who has done this has had any issues with the height of the dresser? We're thinking we'll get the Hemnes 8-drawer from Ikea, which I've seen in a lot of nurseries on Pinterest. I'm 5'4" and DH is over 6' so he won't have any trouble with it. I'm just wondering if anyone has found the dresser as changing table option to be too tall? Or has it worked out okay? Thanks!

we have a standard height dresser we use. i am 5'2 and have no problem. my mom is something like 4'10 and she has a hard time

I have this dresser and used it as a changing table - I'm 5'4" as well and it was perfect. To be honest I moved to a floor changing station by maybe 8 or 9 months as LO got way too wiggly anyway :).

We have that dresser and it's the perfect height. It's actually more important that the dresser isn't too short because bending down to change the baby when newly post partum can be difficult.

I have a Hemnes dresser with a changing pad and it works great. I'm only 5 feet tall so I think you will be fine.

@NorCalWayfarer: We have the Hemnes 8 drawer in our bedroom. I don't think it would be too tall. I'm really tall (6'0) but I honestly don't think it would be too tall for you at all.

I am 5'5" and have no problems with a standard height dresser as a changing table.

I'm going to be the voice of dissension here. I don't have the Hemnes, but have changed LO on it many times at my friend's house. I'm 5'4' and it's a bit too tall for me. I'm sure I could get used to it, but I always feel a bit uncomfortable using it.

I'm 5'4" and have the Hemnes. At 2, LO is still changed up there most of the time, and I can't stand leaning over the bed to do it!

We have the three-drawer Hemnes. I think it's the same height. No issues with changing though I am 5'8" and my husband is 5'10".

We have the 3 drawer Hemnes as well. I am 5'5" and DH is 6'3". We both love it.

I have the Hemnes in D's room and a shorter Ikea dresser in L's room. When I first started using the Hemnes it felt tall to me (I'm 5'5) but I got used to it very quickly and haven't had any issues.

@NorCalWayfarer: We use the modern wood tone + white drawer dresser from IKEA. It's perfect. Ours only has 6 drawers. For me, the key was a narrow depth.

I used a Hemnes piece as a changing table, it was a door cabinet, but it was similar in height to the two drawer dresser.
I think you can modify the leg height if you need to, though.

I have the 3 drawer one, I'm 5'1 so I have to lift LO up to my boobs to get her on but its not really an issue.

chiming in with everyone else: 5'2" here and my husband is 6'2". We have the 3 and 8 drawer Hemnes dressers and have used the changing pad on both—it works fantastic for us. We actually still use it, and my daughter is now 22 months.

We have the larger Hemnes dresser and used it as a changing table. I"m 5'4" and husband is 5'7". Was totally fine for us both.
